It's certainly a fair point. Drinky says a lot of nonsense on the B&B show. You'd think he might want to pass along his scoop. Sports show. Exclusive scoop. Maybe share it with the audience. But no. Silence. Said it on Mac's show. Scared to say it to Bernstien. He knew Bernstein would tear him apart and call him a fool. Only conclusion that can be made. Drinky avoiding answering the question on twitter proves it. You avoids answering when you know you don't have a good answer.

The strangest thing about Bill On Capitol Hill/Amir/Rudy is that the rise of their esoteric navel-gazing is an inverse function of the actual show's esoteric navel-gazing. It's as if Dan outsourced his own pop culture garbage and undergrad philosophy namechecks out to the emailers so he could focus on washing the balls of corporations and Matt Bowen.

@keeblersmith1 Bernstein was wrong? did you tell him he was wrong? did you say it on the air?

@MattAbbatacola Why do you hate him so much? You may need help. This sounds like a transition conversation.

I'm almost 100% convinced that Keebler is Beardown. Or possibly COF.

no, I hate twitter. And as previously stated Matt punched me in around the 3 pm hour and they didn't take me, so he wasn't trying to keep me hidden. Although I still think Dan comes out of this worse than Matty as his sources apparently only talked to ownership, which is pretty lame considering Theo McJed is running the team.

Their Sources. Are not. Credible.

Whomever they are they are not a part of team operations. They are not people who have either first hand knowledge, or even second-hand knowledge. They are more likely an accountant or staffer who engages in office speculation. A five-year search reveals a lot of attribution to Bernstein that is wrong. I would challenge anyone to list three stories they "broke" over the last five years. They are far more wrong, even in their speculation, than they are right.

But again, everything is so hedged with Dan that you can't say he's right or wrong. He did it again with Kerry Wood doing radio! "He hasn't been given the job, and he probably won't take it, but he'll be asked to turn it down." What? All you've said is that Wood will be the new radio guy unless he isn't. It's the same kind of empty-ass tautological bullshit that they rip meatheads like Dierdorf and McCarver for. The Score's Dan Bernstein is reporting that the team that scores the most will win!

I wonder if Bernstein still thinks that an openly gay player would be accepted in the NFL.

A guy who skipped a voluntary practice was almost driven to suicide. I'm sure they'd all leave the gay guy alone though.

I also find it interesting how he's been tap-dancing around the idea that guys might even be alpha-male shitheads in NBA locker rooms, too. Lots of hemming and hawing about how well basketball is different and there may be some abuse but not really and sure M. Jeff was abusive but he was abusive for the right reasons and something something something grown-ass men office mail coffee something something.

I think abuse of teammates is counterproductive and dumb and should be purged from the culture, but let's not pretend it's not in every sport. It happens. It's sports.

Remember when I told you six months ago that Dan's insistence that Julian Green's presence was a determining factor in getting the stadium rehab deal completed was a strong indication of his ignorance about the administrative workings of the Cubs?

I wouldn't be surprised if Julian Green is his source.

So this boils down to:

Padres guys wanted Padres guy
Red Sox guy wanted Red Sox guy
Dude who watched Cubs games in the '90s wants Cub from the '90s

I'm glad Dan broke it down for me! I wouldn't have been able to put it together otherwise!

The #1 guy of the person who owns the team IS the #1 guy. As a recent example in our own city, KW did not have Ozzie even on his short list. JR "suggests" KW interview him. Boom, steak dinner, Ozzie is the new manager.

That is pretty universal across all business lines, even in the Score offices. No one considers Sir as anything but Bear reporter. Mitch becomes GM and likes Sir (was employed by him). Sir becomes the rising young host at the station.

see, the problem with attacking Matt is he has the less wrong info.

Dan's the one with the source connected to ownership. At least Matt had a connection to Hoyer and McLeod.

Well then doesnt this contradict Bernsy again? Throughout free agency that first year he kept saying there we no leaks and everything was kept in house like a professional ball club unlike the Hendry regime. Now it seems everyone has inside sources.
