Would have been funnier if he had posted it as Seacrest.

Here is Larz's comment regarding Grote. Sounds like he is out for about 30 days. Hmmm...

Wednesday, October 23 2013, 01:26 PM

Mark Grote is currently dealing with an important personal issue. The station thinks highly of him and they wish him the best during this time. It is highly doubtful that he will be heard from on his Twitter or Facebook accounts during this time, as his focus will be solely on this issue. The station is hopeful to have Mark back sometime in November.

Thanks for the info, guys. I hope that Mark is doing well and comes very back soon. I miss his humor, updates and early morning banter with The Grobber. He is very funny and I enjoy it when he is on STL. It looks like they are all having fun when Grote is on Kap's show. Best wishes, MG.

Have you fucking heard Mulligan's reads? The station inexplicably runs his promos throughout the day, and each time I hear one, I'm tempted to puncture my eardrums with a q-tip.

Allow me to don Beardowns well-worn, sweat and pizza stained tin foil conspiracy hat for a sec so I can speculate wildly on Grote's absence. Was about the right length of time to have completed a treatment program of some sort, no?

Mac: I almost went that way in college, Mark, this time it's for real.

Grote: I love you too, Mac.

Mac: Let's run away together.

Grote: Where do you think we should go?

Mac: I have a little cottage in Miller Beach that I've kept secret from my wife. It has great cell reception so we can still Tweet.

Grote (in Les Voice): And for that I suck.

Mac: Mark, I can't quit you!

Mitch: I know you boys don't fish up there.

Beardown:

CSFMB:

Best of luck in your continuing recovery, Grote. He's a fresh breath of entertainment on an otherwise awful morning show.

Grote read a well prepared statement this morning at the end of M&H that he checked himself in to rehab for 'drinky'. Nobody asked him to or even hinted at it. He said he has been drinking at whatever pace he has been for the last 5 years.

I will not speculate as to how this issue progressed. fuck it, yes I will.

Guessing that waking up at 3AM then getting home at 10 Am is not the best hours for anyone. forcing your body to sleep at 10 AM is really really tough. Even if at 12, after working out. Maybe a slug or two helps?

Been there! No, didnt check in, but had bad sleep issues and did go through a bottle of private reserve rum from Cuba that was so damn smooth, I would take some more today!

I wish Grote well in his continuing recovery. He really has become one of my favorite personalities on sports talk radio. He has a great ability to be funny without demeaning other people. On the Score airwaves, that's quite refreshing, if not entirely unprecedented.
