Not even asking for MVP production anymore. League-average starting PG production would be a good start though. He's awful through 4 games.

Yeah they should be used to treating star players who get outperformed by their backups.

Hopefully God can find time this week to tell Rose when his hamstring is ok.

I'm not gonna go all Brick and create a seperate thread demanding apologies, but yeah fuck everyone here who said this was a bad basketball thought. When you watch games for years on end you know when someone isn't right vs someone who is rusty. Not even remotely surprising. And our window is officially closed. Sell everybody. I'll root for Noah wherever he goes.

When you say he wasn't right as opposed to rust, are you implying that he was never healed from the other ACL tear yet?

No. After 1 game I said he would suck and we were done for the year. Was I wrong? He sucked in pretty much every game and we are done for the year.

Exactly! This wasn't an injury you could see coming. This is even more silly than his trade everyone idea.

I don't know if it was mental or physical, but he was clearly a very different and worse player all year. And it didn't look like Rubio/Paul/Shumpert when they had these injuries. He played scared and tentative and also lost a step. Our MVP is gone and he is never coming back. It'll take a few more years before some folks here acknowledge that though.

But we do not really know that you were right now. His year has been cut short by another injury. Up to this point no doubt you have been right. But now we don't know. Was he going to suck all year? Long year, who knows. I guess I am not sure what you are really trying to say here. I don't see how his injury makes your statements true.

You knew as well as I did that something wasn't right this year. Take away the injury and the only difference is I make that post in January instead of tonight.

In general way too many people look at the past for expectations regarding the future. Bad habit. Rose is done. Our MVP is dead and gone. Let's move on instead of making this a half-decade long mess.

Oh I totally believe he's done as far as superstar status. With his game as currently constructed , I don't think he will ever trust his knees again mentally to do what makes him effective let alone the physical aspect of the injuries i.e. soreness, swelling. I don't think he's a good enough outside shooter to change his game to effective just doing that. So he's fucked good and proper in my opinion.

Don't be naive. His injury will end his season again. Which, in turn, makes my statements true. But even disregarding that, I'll wager against anyone(assuming we can agree on the conditions) that he's never gonna return to top PG form again in his career. I've seen enough of these guys who were never the same to feel good about this. Old folks like you should know even more what I'm talking about

I don't know if Rose will ever comeback mentally from this.

I think the Bulls can still win. He looked better the last 2 games. I believe it was mental. Obviously this doesn't help.

He took 100% longer to "recover" from his previous injury than the average world-class athlete does. Now you expect him to be on the express-route to recovery?

No, but the Bulls championship window is now officially slammed shut. This team and its hopes and dreams are over. Crushed.

Yes they could make an 8th seed in a shitty East and get bounced but is that supposed to make anyone feel better?

Bulls will be a five seed worst case. The 8th seed in East will have a real bad record.

I think you are correct about this. If they can repair the Meniscus tear I believe he will elect to have that surgery rather than having the torn material removed. If they simply remove the torn material, he could be back in 4-6 weeks, but it means a greater likelihood of problems with the knee later in his career as well as after his Basketball career ends. Dwayne Wade has expressed regrets about not taking the repair route and I believe Rose will choose it, because he has shown that he's much more concerned about himself and his long term, than what might benefit the team most. If he chooses the repair surgery, it's a 4 month recovery, which basically ends his season. They should have traded him this past off season as I suggested. he's very much like Grant Hill, he's just going to have one injury after another. When is the last time he actually played 20 games in a row, without missing a game or several?? 2010. He had 5 different injuries in 2011, missed all of 2012 and will now miss most of 2013. Getting rid of his contract even if they can't get great value in return may become the focus before long.

In this crappy conference, Thibs - if he isn't fired or encouraged to walk out - can get them to a four or five seed at worst, and a three seed at best. Both NY teams suck. Obviously none of it will matter if Rose doesn't return.
