I have it on my laptop and really like it.

Easy to use and fast.

It's anything but fast. I get plenty of "Waiting on Score670.com" when clicking links in explorer, and I can't ever find shit on this fucking thing. I had to look up how to restart the damn thing. No start button. The updates restart when they want to. The sidebars make me crazy as I'm trying to mouse around... oh look a sidebar (I'm trying to click a link asshole computer) nope, no links here, nah we got a sidebar! But I want to click my favorites... sorry, a sidebar pops up as you get close. Wait I wanted to click the back button... you mean the back button behind that sidebar? Sorry.

That's one of my biggest complaints with the greater lexicon of contemporary software usage; I loathe programs that insist on updating/upgrading themselves. I have this 'psychotic' mentality where when I have a program that does everything I want it to do I'm not going out and try to upgrade it for the sake of upgrading. I'm the damn user here, and I'll decide when I want to update whatever I wanna update, you don't know better than me.

I've actually taken umbrage with android jellybean (at least the XT912 4.1.2 motoblur version for the droid razr/maxx) because it has the stones to routinely suggest to me that i'm listening to my music too loud and that could damage my ears so it's gone ahead and halved my volume for make great benefit glorious methingway.

The human/computer control paradigm needs to always remain a one way street to digital bondageville. Once computers believe in their heart of hearts that they know better than us, welp, it's only a matter of time then.

BTW, with windows 8 if you get some sort of a program/hack that puts in a start bar, i've found that if you exclusively use the desktop mode from startup to shutdown it'll automatically drop you into the desktop when you first start up windows, which means that you don't have to deal with metro at all. obviously nu-windows is gonna be bloated with all kinds of useless crap (the XP experience was a rousing success, after all) so performance is subject to sporadic veritable computer burps/farts, but hey that's just the price of doing business in a microsoft world.

My company is still on Windows XP. We have a few computers w/ 7, but there's an issue w/ our system & 7, so they haven't brought out the other new ones yet.

Finally had it with IE. Switched to Firefox... RIDICULOUSLY better.

I bought this Acer laptop in July. i5 processor 6 GB 650 RAM. Got it for 350 on closeout at Office Depot. And it has Windows 7, which is the main thing I was looking for. After reading about 8, I wanted no part of it.

I don't get what MS was thinking...I mean, they force you to use the Metro UI and nothing else when navigating the OS, there isn't even a desktop anymore! No more icons or anything, it's crazy.

I just don't get it.

It sucks. Many times I've moved my mouse over to the right side of the screen to click on the bar to scroll down a web page and this stupid fucking sidebar pops up and I click the setup or some godawful button that pops up for no damn good reason.
Just give me my start button back. It I wanted the experience of a tablet I would have bought one you shitfuck twatwaffles.
