I attended NIU for the time that Sam Hurd was there. Guy showed up so often for class that I didn't even know he was on the football team for half the first semester. Whereas Garrett Wolfe and some of the O Line were in class once a month if that. He had me fooled.

Dude also was an excellent basketball player. Probably better than anything NIU had on the team that particular set of years.
