Anywhere but the green is fine. If you need to bring the cigar to the green, ash it before you get there. It really isn't that difficult to avoid.

My uncle usually smokes a cigar or two on the course. He has a cigar holder that clips to the cart. It looks similarly to this:

Yeah, I bought that clip also. Very handy. Whoever came up with it probably made a fortune. It's just a modified clothespin. Probably cost 10 cents to make, and they sell for $5.

That clip is great. I really don't smoke cigars that much anymore, but would lose them all the time when i did.
