I thought we had a breastfeeding thread. This was all I could find.

So, I'm at a fairly upscale restaurant for lunch. I'm there on the early side with my associate so it's still pretty empty. A couple sits down next to us directly in my line of sight and the first thing she does is start feeding the kid. She was pretty hot so I didn't mind too much.

But, couldn't you take care of this before you sit down to eat? I mean, if that's the first thing you need to do, maybe you take care of that and then go eat?

Nice rack, though.

Never found nursing mothers attractive in any way. Though it doesn't bother me. The little guy needs to eat too.

Why do you hate women? You should be happy that a hot woman pulled out her engorged breast without you having to pay for it at a strip club. Shame on you for complaining.

It was more an observation than a complaint. I said I didn't mind.

My wife is breastfeeding right now and she is completely nervous about being stuck in the situation you describe.

They make these nice shawls anyhow that you are supposed to put over the kid so you are not all "tits-out" in public anyhow, but she usually pre-pumps a bottle or takes him out to the car.

Keep in mind, one of the greatest things about breastfeeding is that it passes on the world's best antibodies directly to the child, who is also getting their nutrition filtered through their mother, so really ZERO to NO levels of harmful chemicals are uptaken by the baby.

But the very best perk? Women do not have their period while they are breastfeeding. Nature is great.

That isn't always true.

Especially when they're breastfeeding school-aged children.

Here is the second sentence from that page:

Dr. Sears wrote:
"While breastfeeding full-time, most mothers do not ovulate and do not have menstrual periods."

You seem to have misinterpreted that.

You know, good doctor, you could have started a new thread about this incident without bumping the one about Anne Maxfield. Now I get to think of this. Great.

You seem to have misinterpreted that.

Exactly. You are trying to grandstand upon the exception to the rule, which exception usually only even appears when proper procedure is not followed.

It is YOU who failed to read on just a bit further:

Dr. Sears wrote:
Studies have shown that most mothers who are breastfeeding exclusively remain infertile for more than the six-month period covered by LAM. Ovulation and menstruation return only when the baby starts to nurse less often and prolactin levels fall.

Here is another website, in addition to the one you posted, that says you are wrong:

http://www.babycenter.com/404_when-can- ... od_2288.bc

Quote:
Some breastfeeding mothers resume their menstrual cycle sooner than 11 weeks and others after 24 months or more. It's all related to hormones and the differences in nursing "styles" of the mother and baby.

Now, have fun arguing with yourself.

That wasn't part of your original statement. You changed the whole tone, after you were proven wrong. Get some rest.

Interesting thread with a lot of characters participating. I guess I never realized Ike was here that far back.

My original statement is just fine. You are talking just to hear yourself talk.

That is the funniest thing that I have read in a while, coming from you.

I only wish that we did the first kid like this one. My wife sought no help with the milk supply and quit after only 3-5 weeks, so we had to go with smelly BS formula.

My first born didn't taste formula until he was nine or ten months old.

My wife is the fucking shit - very disciplined. All she cares about are the kids. She has not had a beer in about 13 mo.

10th anniv next year - she wants a Disney Cruise. See? She's not even one of those moms who just wants to ditch the kids.

My wife's OB (damn it) told her that she could have a glass of wine while she was pregnant, but she never did. She said wine smelled like vinegar. She would have an occasional sip from my beer, but that was it. She also stopped smoking during the pregnancies, and breast feeding. The cigarettes can affect the taste of the milk. Not that she smokes a lot, maybe a pack every three or four days, but she didn't smoke at all. And I know that, because I never smelled it on her. I don't smoke, so I can always tell if somebody has been smoking.

She already wants to plan a Disney trip. The kids are three and one and a half. It won't be a cruise, however. She went on a few with her dad and stepmother, and she hates them. I'm sure it had something to do with being trapped with them, but I digress.
