I wonder if Bernstein will refuse to allow this town to rally around its high school football team and their semifinal game next weekend.

That 2nd video is crazy. wow. That is amazing that there is only 1 fatality.

Thank you Hawger. From what I've read off of Facebook most of the residents are back in their rooms. Generators are providing power.

Yea, I cannot believe there is only 1 dead so far. The weird thing is we were in the exact path of the tornado yesterday dropping my mom off while the playoff game was being played. Thank God it didn't happen yesterday....that would have been disastrous. Quite a swing of emotions for a town in one day.

We can only hope and pray for the team. Also the weathermen ran a ton of stuff to predict the storm.

Just saw on Facebook that a picture of a daughter of a friend of mine ended up in Lockport. A lot of photos, bank statements, etc. from Washington have ended up there. Unbelievable.

Thanks RR. Mom is staying with my sister tonight. I have no idea how they got into town to get her but they did and everyone is good.

Thanks to everyone else who sent well wishes.

Glad to hear everything is alright, PM.

Most of the tree that fell is on city property, so they are on their way to cut that shit up. Basically, I just have to deal with the trunk and the roots.

My truck didn't escape completely unscathed. The passenger side mirror was broken. I can get an aftermarket mirror for $20.

My heart sank while seeing pictures of the Central IL damage yesterday. I'm thankful my family in that area made it through unscathed. Having said that, I'm sure the tree huggers will blame this on global warming.

I'm just glad that it hit my vehicle, and not somebody else's.

My family is a little south of Springfield, which is where I'm originally from. The bulk of it was north of them, luckily.

And in a crazy coincidence, the team they play this weekend... SHG "cyclones"

Landed at OHare at 4pm yesterday. It was the rockiest/bumpiest landing I have ever had. I have no idea how the pilots kept the plane level and on the runway. Was following the weather and Bears game on the plane via Fox News, CNN, and NFL Network. Was pretty dammed crazy. Thoughts and prayers to all those affected.

It turns out that the mirror isn't broken. My wife thought it was, because she looked out the window, and it was turned, but they fold in and out.

I noticed that sign during the broadcast and thought to ask to the family "What is that sign?" but glad I held back.

We had some pretty strong winds out here in Homewood -- it was raining sideways briefly -- power outages, some floods from drains getting clogged with crap, but overall it was alright.

It is snowing. Roads are wet, but no snow building on the roads. Maybe 1/4" dusting on the grass and sidewalks when its all said and done.

What about the picture I posted of the guy on the motorcycle this morning in 30mph winds and blowing snow, there were accidents everywhere? I couldn't believe that guy was on his motorcycle, I hope he lived.
