It's still there, albeit thinner than ever and with oddball articles about people who I can only assume are friends of Michael Ferro. Like the two page article on some guy named Tom McKeon that Hoekstra must have been ordered to write. This guy has the talent of a mediocre New Trier art student. Why he merits a two page spread in a major metropolitan daily, I can only guess. And my guess is Ferro was friends with his old man.

But I'll still be spending the buck and picking up a copy at the newsstand this morning. All the illiterates can grab the Redeye for free and "read" it on the train.

It's not on the web anymore. Somebody didn't pay their bill?

Your link worked. But trying to read a newspaper on the web is like entering a maze without a map.

Godfella,

Once again, I am in your debt. You had the correct answer I knew nothing about. I also thank you for honoring my parents by attending their wedding.

The comments to this article, as well as the article itself, provide answers to the question in the subject:

Prego, jimmypasta. Joe Mantegna - my guy! My cousin went to Morton with him and they are still pals to this day... I know, I know - you're all happy for me. Salute', jp!

Taking a friend home Saturday night drove through the Grand and Pulaski intersection around 3 am, spot was filthy with what must've been hookers.
One looked to be all of 16. Figured with craigslist and whatnot these girls wouldn't need to work the corner. Maybe it was the unseasonably warm weather early Sunday morn.

It was a great area back in the '60's.

(That's 1960's  )

You're forgetting a full page of Sneed a day. Plus whatever that day's half to 3/4 page on the Koschman case is about.

I don't mind the Koschman stuff. Somebody needed to hit that hard.

Sneed is a complete fucking moron. She's nothing more than a publicist for Grant DePorter, Sarah Palin, and the Royal Family. Also, her attacks on Cavallari make her seem like a jealous old broad.

Oh RJ needs to get locked up. It'd probably drive me a little less nuts if they used a current photo of the guy from the time (not the one taken in the Prospect meeting rooms 5 years earlier). The one from last week though which was a "why can't we taint the jury pool!!!" article masquerading as a "Public safety" piece was annoying.

I'd have no problem with him being locked up just on principle, but realistically, if he hadn't run and lied, it was really just an altercation gone wrong. A jail sentence may not have been in order. But we'll never know because a trial after so many years isn't a trial at all. I don't see how he could be convicted now. The real issue is the cops and prosecutors.
