As per the lease with the CPD, the Bears actually have control over what the turf is and per the Bears, artificial turf causes more injuries than grass does. They claim they have done their own studies and this is what they came up with, which I think is total bullshit as the Bears havent been on the cutting edge of anything since Halas started fining players and kept the money!

When you see guys sliding and falling all over, its just a matter of time before one of the WR's tears the groin as the slide two ways at one time!

Thus the only way this can be fixed is if the NFL steps in , like they have been claiming for years! and makes the Bears get new turf! can we get a Dome at the same time!

You cant make as much money on kick backs when field turf is only installed once every 8-10 year as opposed to grass 2-3 times a season.

During the forerly Mac show the producer called/emailed the Bears while they were discussing. Apparently, this is some sort of joint decision on what the field is per them.

I'd go with that hybrid stuff they have in Lambeau. Seems like if they are dead set on keeping a "natural" field, this is about as good as you can get for the climate. Even Jay made fun of installing new sod in November.
