No, they didn't.

Closest they came was beating NIU.

Yeah, I think Chus was being unreasonably in this thread also. Doesn't really make sense.

After watching last night's game, I am convinced more than ever that he is destined to be a running back in the pros. I see him being a Jacob Hester type.

Isn't hester a fullback ?

Lynch can play qb in the nfl, he was missing his top 2 wideouts last nite on the road..n the kicker shanked 3 chip shots.

I don;t think he can make all the throws he would need to in the NFL. I do think he could be a valuable ball carrier and pass catcher out of the backfield. I don't he is fast enough to be an every down back, but he could have a long career in the NFL in an H Back, big back type role.

Great quote from the coach at halftime about the kicker.

I'm not so sure he is going to play NFL football. I certainly wouldn't bet on it.

I think he will find his way on to a roster. He will be open to position changes and plays hard. I'm not saying it will be a long or illustrious career but certainly will get a chance to play on Sundays.

He can be an athletic John Kuhn.

As far as the kicker...2 of those were over 40 yds and the last one was like 47. 47 isn't a chip shot. The first one was an extra point length kick though.

He will hang around for a few years, maybe longer if he changes positions and excels afterwards. He doesn't have an NFL arm.

How does Lynch compare with Michael Robinson from PSU?

Coming out of college, Robinson was a bit bigger (6'2" 225) than Lynch (6' 210) and arguably faster (Robinson was timed at 4.55 and Lynch is estimated around 4.65). Robinson got bigger in the pros to convert to fullback but was drafted as a RB

I could see a similar career path.

Plus having a guy who can emergency QB is not a bad thing

That's why I suggested like Jacob Hester. He's never going to be a feature back but did get 5 years in the league with low carries and doing the dirty work. It is a bonus that he could be a 3rd QB.

Can Lynch catch? If he shows good hands at the combine I think he'll be in the NFL a long time.

As a RB/WR he has a lot of value. As a RB I'm not so sure.

I think Chandler Harnisch was better than Lynch both as a QB and a runner.

Lynch does not have fullback size. Maybe he can be like Danny Woodhead. Someone will give him a chance to develop but I'd be shocked if he is in the league in 3 years. Suprisingly, Stingley probably has a better shot to be a pro than Lynch

The top pro prospect on that field last night was Fluellen but he was playing hurt

Probably the top pro prospect for NIU broke his leg 3 weeks ago.

For the 2nd year in a row. :(

I agree. Lynch is a great college player but he doesn't have the size to move to another position other than, maybe, slot receiver. He's got a shot there.

Desmond Howard referenced a few players on Toledo who could "play on Sundays". Howard is the worst college football analyst I have ever heard. Just terrible.

Every other time he spoke he was saying a Toledo receiver could play on Sundays. A hell of a Super Bowl MVP!!! but a terrible analyst.

I also notice Santa from Geneva out there making a ton of plays and true freshman Chad Beebe was on kick off team. He is so damn small I thought they would redshirt him but no.

NIU has had a string of really good QBs. Who is the next in line for next year and is he any good?

When you get right down to it, that's the difference between the major conferences and the lesser ones- the size of the players. Schools like NIU can get good players, they're just going to be a little smaller than the guys at a Big Ten school. And yeah, they can point to their one game a year against a second echelon Big Ten team and get up and be good enough to beat them by a field goal, but if they had to play in a conference like that week in and week out it would be a different story. Nothing against NIU. They're a really good MAC team.

Probably current backup and redshirt sophomore Matt McIntosh. He won a bunch of shit in high school in Indiana. He can run and pass. I would probably keep an eye on true freshman (who may be redshirting), Octavio Renteria who is also a duel threat and out of St. Patrick.

I've been to some St. Pat's games over the past two years so I am familiar with the second guy

Yes. The guy whose odds are currently 40-1 to win the Heisman, which puts him behind about ten guys. He won't be invited to NY, .........
.

Ahem. Lots of 'gag' today.

Just saying.

I could see him picking up enough midwestern votes to get an invite.
