This thread will be pretty silent. Because everybody who would normally have piled on let it happen in the House without a peep and they know it.

The silence is speaking volumes.

I don't think anyone really cares.

It's a stupid tactic that never really did much of anything besides waste time.

I have no idea what we're talking about. Seriously. What is this about? Is there a link or something?

The Democrats changed the longstanding rules on filibusters.

Basically, it takes 51 votes to stop a filibuster now instead of 60. So, it may as well not exist at all.

Right. I just read two articles about this.

This is fascinating. While I don't disagree with it, it would be interesting to see the reactions when the tables are turned.
That being said... what's the fucking hold up and why? Mercy. Get on with it.

Just a judicial nomination, not legislation so it's not really that big a deal if you ask me.

I know.

However, I don't want our silence to speak volumes. I want our volume to speak volumes.

That was a disturbing position to take in my opinion. We need to immediately speak about all and any topic?
If I don't comment on everything am I complicit in something?

I guess.

Baby McCown hasn't responded. Now his silence is speaking volumes.

Hey if your thoughts are it's not a big deal then say so. But you have to admit, this much silence of the rules of the Senate being changed is quite odd for this place.

I agree with Reid et all that there needed to be change. I would have preferred the change be to return to the actual filibuster rules where you stand there and tal until you drop like Rand Paul did instead of just filing a piece of paper.

BRick you have 8 pages of posts bitching about everything BHO related down to his breakfast order. I figured the whining would start with you or Biggie. I was wrong

No Darko. Obama sneezes and it's 12 pages. Reid changes the rules of the Senate and gives the GOP the finger and nobody says boo? That's odd.

Dude. What the fuck are you talking about? I just got home like a damn hour ago and I had a beer and talked to the wife and dealt with some shop shit after hours... just now reading the board and the news.
Equating not having a chance to comment with any kind of reaction or agreement or disagreement is not only downright stupid and obnoxious it's borderline unbalanced.

As far as the rules of filibuster go I would wager you'll feel different if you are in a minority position.

So, Baby McCown is now complaining that we didn't complain about a Democrat?

Is he trying to lock up the award for "Worst Political Poster Of The Year"?

You want a cookie for not being a douchebag? No problem.

We can tell who is taking my post personally pretty clearly so far.

I don't care who's in the majority. If you're not gonna Gregory Peck then it's not a filibuster. Period end of sentence.

Well then who the hell are you talking about? Name names instead of this vague slinging shit you're pulling.
Since I'm a regular political contributor and I rarely agree with you about much of anything I assume you mean me as well as anyone else to the right of center that seems to be the target of your ranting.
Grow up? dude, I say this seriously and honestly. Fuck you. I have had it with you talking shit to me about a rod this or grow up that... no one else on this board treats me like that and I have a civil political record with everyone else on here... except you. Why is it that I can talk politics with civility and dignity with everyone else but you? What is the variable here?

I won't defend the Senate Republicans. But their opinion is that the Senate is suppose to be a deliberative body that protects the interests of the minority party. The problem is they abused the filibuster too many times. For the Dems, this will come back to bite them when the Republicans gain control of the Senate.

Not sure. Since you asked why you can't have a civil discussion with me why don't you answer your own question. While fucking yourself with a large rusty pole.

I posted about the silence from the OBAMA SUCKS! DICTATORSHIP! crowd on the Senate vote today. You took it personally. And now are acting like a big fucking baby. So like I said before. Grow up.

Soooo point out that Obama sneezing to the south instead of the north gets 6 pages of "IMPEACH!" on here is being in Obama's nutsack. Got it.
