so do you have to turn in your hetero card if you enjoy a tranny with Leary? one side argues that it's just a chick with a dick, but other side just folds its arms and looks at you like "DUDE..." and you're like "b-b-b-but it's a score signature segment! i love it when speagol challenges bernstein!" but then the other side just says "real men wait til 1:30 to start listening" and you don't really have much of a response for that.

also, TALLY HO!

larry is suicidal radio. you can take the happiest man in the world, and make him listen to an hour of larry homes and he will run a drill bit through his forehead.

Splitting hairs on pronouncing words correctly in a segment with Leery is such a big Sledgehammer of Irony that they had to drop it with a crane.

It would be great for Dan to pronounce "car" in a non-nasally way. I cringe whenever he says it.

i've long said that larry's overdone verbal inflection is a big radio-turnoff to me. on his solo shows he's more prone to dramatic pauses and his enunciation tends to tie in with his grandiose much-ado-about-nothing style of hosting topics.

but all this -eary stuff the board harps on him for? yikes. it's one of those things that once you hear it you can't unhear it... thanks guys!

yeah the rebecca black friday open is <<< the cure friday i'm in love open. and it's not even the kind of feeling that invokes that timeless "the board was better 2 years ago" meme, it's pure fact.

but i guess Tannehill wanted to put his own stamp on the show by changing up a lot of the standards of the Goff/Amattacola era, which begs the question.... what does Abattacola do for B&B? does he answer the calls and type in what the callers wanna talk about on the screen for dan and terry? Does he sit there and say "ok today in the 3 o'clock hour we wanna spend 2 segments on social justice, one segment belittling idiot callers, and then we've got so-and-so?"

i guess matt's job is to book guests and whatnot, although most of their guests are regular weekly features idk how much work he's actually gotta put into that. methinks his job ultimately is to work the phones and screen the callers to make sure that the dumbest/most-argumentative get through at a 95/5 ratio to the B&B ALS callers, maybe do some internet searches, and just kind of preside over B&B talking and Tanny working the board. or at least that's the best i can come up with.... does anyone have any better ideas?

IMO the new opens for both Friday and WYC? are bad. The Friday open is grating and the one for WYC is needlessly long and just feels...cluttered.

One thing that Tannehill does well on the technical side is that he knows to cut the mic on Gerry Dinardo when Terry/Dan are talking because good god man, he used to have this really awful sounding labored/heavy mouthbreathing thing going on that was disgusting to listen to. It was the essence of cringeworthy radio.... and now I don't even hear an accidental slobbering. Well done, Cosm!

either that or perhaps someone told Gerry about it.... or maybe, just maybe, he reads the board? * puts on Beardown hat which strangely resembles a burger king crown *

Show rundown:

Gearry DiNardo. Giggling at the Illini. Beckman fighting Cubit. The bad culture of college football. Florida St is the new Penn St. Napalm Florida. Salt their fields. Crucify Jameis Christ.

Frank Thomas. Dan will no doubt bring up metrics and what Frank's WAR would be. Jerry Reinsdorf is smart. He, Rahm and Theo run Chicago like the Roman Republic from a secret synagogue.

Hoge/Zaidman/ice picks in your balls.

Roberto de Niles. He'll speak in wacky old man non sequiturs! It's so zany, silly, and harmless!

Mike from Milwaukee maybe? Maggoty ass drunks should be monetized.

HEY DAN. DAN. I AM SO SMART. S-M-R-T.

Puffing, leaking, secreting, and oozing from Terry.

Dan's pissed off Washington High School is playing this Saturday. Actually he doesn't think HS football should exist. Which would make it difficult to have college football.

he will because its not a big drain on his life if his kid gets permanently injured. the possible upside is the kid becomes a star and makes dan a million dollars.

yeah, i can swear i heard him say that it's OK when pro teams do stuff because that gives them money (because the only thing worse than a symbolic/commemorative HS football game is people sending their prayers/will-wishes. SEND. MONEY. OTHERWISE. YOU. AREN'T. DOING. ANYTHING) but that this game is basically a celebration of brain damage?

so obviously Dan sees nothing positive about people trying to celebrate a "return to normalcy", even if it's technically just a concept, via the high school team playing a game that shows that the school/community's spirit isn't broken....because

Sacred Heart Griffin has already collected thousands of dollars from their own player's families to pay for six buses to take the Washington fans to the game Saturday and will also be feeding them afterwards, any additional money collected or leftover will be given to the Washington Tornado relief fund.
