Sources tell me that dungeon has the works, Spaulding. He never gets anybody down there. Not even his wife. But it's quite something, from what I've been told, per a source of somebody that I know. He says he heard it from somebody else. Now, I very well could be wrong. There is a great chance that there is no dungeon. But that's what I've been told.

I want this on every SCORE update. Mitch?

Mitch: Sure. That's enough for me to go with it.

Beardown:  This is the problem, Mitch.

Mitch: What?

Beardown: Nothing. Lock that office door. Go back underneath your desk.

Abbatacola was ahead of the field on Rick Renteria being the leading candidate for Cubs manager. Why can't he be right on Cutler too? Doesn't make sense, Beardown. Do you know how this stuff works? Obviously not.

The level of irony in this question makes me chuckle silently.

Usually my chuckles are obnoxiously loud.

I think you're being sarcastic. Can't tell.

If not, they were both bullshit stories. Like I said, expect at least one of these a month from drinky. He's trying to get his sports media wings. His personality and horrible broadcasting ability have prevented that from happening. So now he decided to go the B&B route with bullshit stories. He had tried to be Bernstein as a talk show host. Doing and saying the Bernstein things. Failed. Why not try this thing? Be this great reporter that has stuff nobody else has. What the hell? This is a desperate attempt to become a made radio man. Everybody should see through it.

In fact, I'll predict the next one. He's been Bears and Cubs insider the last couple of weeks. Time to be "Bulls Insider". Now, with this Rose stuff, expect him to have some inside info on Rose and/or the "Thibs vs. Management" thing.

Drinky: Hey ahhhh, Dan?

Bernstein: Yes, drinky? You'd like to say something?

Drinky: Yeah. Uh, ahhh, uh, ahhh this Bulls and Rose situation, ahhh, I've heard, ahh that, ahhh....

Bernstein: English, mother fucker, do you speak it?

What prefaced it was them seeing Rebecca Haarlow on the NFL Network while they were doing the show, and one of them commented on the erroneous report she gave about Cutler last week. S & W asked Jay what percentage of things athletes hear about themselves is wrong and he said about 70%, and then said "Someone on The Score this morning said I was having surgery and was out for the season." He knew his first name was Matt but didn't exactly know what his last name ("Atta...something"), which I believe since it wasn't unusual for people who actually listened to and called Matt on the occasions he'd host a show to not know, either.

I don't think Cutler is fighting with a radio producer, and I'd wager that his notion that "those guys over there are a bunch of clowns" is not exactly unique.

However, I would be surprised if Laurence doesn't use this as an opportunity to defend his girl Rebecca. I'm not sure if you guys know, but Laurence works with her on Channel 5! We might get an installment of "Laurence Holmes Presents: Awkward and Creepy Interviews with Women" today.

So Leary will be interviewing Rebecca to discuss something that was said on a show that Leary won't even acknowledge to exist. Sounds about right.

Beardown getting killed for reporting the truth as usual

How bout the fact that Beardown correctly predicted that Drinky's source was actually just listening to Cutler's show on ESPN?

We'll see. Cutler can say he'll be back in two weeks all he wants. Derrick Rose could say he is coming back in two weeks too.

It doesn't mean it is accurate until it actually happens.

I dont think Cutler coming back or not is the point. The point is Drinky had no source and got called out on it.

No, Beardown has spent 3 pages being a dumbass. Not sure if he heard what Matty said but if I remember correctly he said there was talk (his subtle credit to the Cutler show) Cutler has ankle tendon issues. Then Matty went further and said his source told him Cutler has a torn ankle tendon and he might be out for the season. They are going to see if Cutler should have surgery similar to how a couple years ago he could've came back but Hanie fucked the season so there was no point.

Are you kidding? Is it not obvious that Drinky took what Cutler said and just spun it into a guess? You really believe he has sources in the know on Cutler's injury?

Where Bernstein is clever about his lies, drinky is too dumb to get away with this type of shit. Got exposed on this one. Goff tried the same thing with the Lebron bullshit that he reported. These guys are frauds and sleazy with no business being in media.

God, Mitch needs to stop his producers from having a voice. Just have them answer the phones Mitch. One day they might say some shit that gets your station sued.

Pretty much just nailed it with that sentence. If you heard when he first start running with this narrative, it was when Boers/Bernstein were speculating on how long he would be out for with the cast, and all, and he jumped in with the possibility of Cutler not returning this season. He went to mention it once or twice more last week as a possibility and I think just decided to run with it it. He has no source, but in some regards, he must feel he has earned credibility now if Cutler is mentioning him.

Correct.

Not sure how anyone can see it any other way

So Matty could still be right. Cutler on the show said he's going to play in Dallas. Everything Matty said could be right. Cutler could have a torn tendon and he should be out for the season but is going to put on a brace and bust out Urlacher's drum of Toradol to shoot himself up to play.

The Bears doctors already caved to Tresty and Cutler so doing so again doesn't make Matty wrong.

No, as Biggs would've scooped this if it was true. But, I don't see the tragedy to society that Beardown does. The 1-6 shift makes up shit all the time. Why is Beardown so offended?

Yes, Drinky's guess could end up being true.

I dont think that's the issue. To me, its about Drinky listening to ESPN and spinning it into a non existent source

It's not a tragedy. It's just a little thing to righfully make fun of Drinky for.

But Drinky and Beardown have a history too

Thank you.

I'm not quite sure why people are beating their dicks over jr high drama when any other time they're bitching about Cutler being a jr high diva.

I know it's not lost on either of you that our Hall of Fame, Superbowl winning man god of a coach has a nearly 20 year old unauthorized segment on the Score based on his fighting media on the air.

Cutler is injured and has time on his hands. I'm sure it's his wife who spotted the report while doing her daily scouring of the internet for any mention of Cavalleri or Cutler and Jay is just responding off the cuff to her reports to him

He's working on a theme. The interview with Rebecca will follow "In the Film Room with Matt Bowen" in which Leery and Matt break down game film...on the radio.

Why does it matter whether the report ultimately turns out to be accurate? That is not the test. The test of credibility is whether the report was true and accurate at the time of reporting.

Jay did have a tendon issue. He openly stated that 2 weeks ago I believe. Removal of the cast and re mobilization of the ankle would both seem to indicate that the tendon issue is no longer a worry.

Exactly. And since Cutler was honest last week, why wouldn't he be honest yesterday? Why would he lie and say everything is feeling fine, looking good, "I'll be ready for Dallas".

Cuz that's gonna be drinky's dumb ass response. That Culter isn't telling the truth. No. He's fine with telling the truth on his radio show.

Also, why don't Zack and Shuester ever have anything? They never do.

Zack walks around Halas Hall 5 days a week. All he does is record the bullshit and play it for us. Or he'll help spin the Bears message himself. Then we get the guy answering Bernstein's phone telling us bullshit Bears info that the Score decides to promote all day.

What the hell kind of operation are you running, Mitch?

Yeah. Seriously. Why would he lie yesterday when he divulged to everybody last week that it was more than just a sprained ankle. Nobody knew that until he said it.

The Bears have lied pretty much through the whole thing unless you believe that Cutler was "Week To Week" the day after he injured it.

I consider week to week as an injury with an indefinite healing time that will hamper playing longer than one game but not necessitating IR.

Take Cutler's groin injury as an example. It is week to week with an expected return of a month but with a possible return of shorter than that.

Alternatively, Briggs is not week to week because the healing time for a bone break is much more static.
