Yep. Though I should note I had two 10 oz. drafts and not two bombers. It's on draft at the Foxn Hound.

Sounds like this arc is some fan service to the book about the Governor's backstory.

Never read it.

Huh? I thought the episode was great. They had to give some sort of backstory on what happened to the guy.

Agreed. Good episode, devote the time so it's in stone and understood. Better than piecing it together through flashbacks every ep.

It was funny though, they kept on having him do these tasks for them...
"Oh yeah, uh, the whole 4th floor is over run by zombies and I know we took your gun.....but could you go up there and get a checkers set for us? Thaaaaaanks"

It seemed pretty straight forward to me. The dude had hit rock bottom, and had pretty much given up. He meets this family, that happens to have a young girl that reminds him of his own daughter. Now he has something to live for. This doesn't mean he's just going to forget about the prison and any revenge he wants.

It seemed pretty straight forward to me, too. Just better to devote the whole ep. to it than go all herky jerky over 2 episdoes with flashbacks interspersed with Michone staring and and a bunch of people being retarded.

I thought the episode was pretty good. I was interested to know what had happened to him and what he
was up to. Will be interesting to see how he works with this new group. Can I assume the gunshots outside
the pit killed off the girls? I didn't watch the previews for next week.

No, they're still around, and were in the preview for next week.

I will be interested to see how he tries to hide his identity with his new people. Obviously he won't be able
to so he'll be caught in his web of lies.

George, at Monk's with Loretta: "The, uh, actor that played Jesus made some odd choices."

Loretta: "What?"

George: "I mean, uh... I had fun ice skating."
Maura, entering Monk's: "George?"

George: "Maura. Oh, my God! What are you doing here?!"

Maura: "You told me to meet you here for lunch."

George, standing up and overreacting: "Oh, I'm caught in my own web of lies!"

Maura, to Loretta: "I'm Maura."

Loretta, to Maura: "I'm Loretta. You want to join us?"

George: "This is all blowing up in my face! My serious girlfriend, and my torrid love affair have accidentally crossed paths. I have ruined three lives. Well, I understand if you never want to see me again, so..."

Maura: "George, what we have is too important. We can work through this."

Loretta: "So can we."

George: "What? So, this is still not over?"

Maura: "No."

George: "You?"

Loretta: "No."

George, reluctantly sitting down: "All right."

He didn't lie about anything. He was purposely vague, but I did not see a lie. If you look it up, from the comics, his real name IS Brian, and Phillip was his deceased brother's name that he used possibly as a tribute.

In the books where they go through his backstory, he's originally kind of a wuss, and his brother is the strong hard-ass. He takes his brother's name and kind of "becomes" him in a way, and moves away from his weak past.

LOVED the episode. So much more interesting than what's going on at the prison where the big story all season is that some people have the sniffles.

Can't wait to see how this new group develops and how the Governor takes charge of it (I assume he will).

I read the backstory book about the Governor, very good. They paid tribute to it, but changed it significantly. In the book he runs into that family BEFORE he becomes the Governor and before Woodbury. Also, when he runs into them he is with his brother. The results of that meeting are quite different than what has happened in the show so far.

SPOILER>>>>>>>>>>>>

A tank has been spotted at the prison during filming of this season so looks like the scene from the comics where teh Governor storms the prison in a tank is going to happen. That should be the end of the prison once and for all.

would be nice to see them leave the prison and actually continue the fucking show. once the cdc blew up it was all downhill. they know there are pockets of people out there, hell they have found a couple hundred... surely there are some bigger groups forming by now. you would think they would have found a city with a few thousand people working together to stay alive...

Shaping up to be a really intersting episode before the mid-season break. I didn't see the previews for next week.

I wonder what type of fuel a tank takes (diesel?), and where in the fuck they would get it from.

Yes they run on diesel generally. I would think that could be found at a truck stop.

There's probably gas in it. I doubt they are just joy-riding around in that thing.

I'm kind of disappointed in this episode. I thought after last episode that they were setting up the Governor to be something different, not sure what.

But, after last night, we find that we are now right back where we were at the end of last season with the Governor at the gates with an army and the exact same motivations as he had last year.

It's a do-over.

That said, I think they'll probably do it right this time but I don't think we needed 2 solid hours to show us who the Governor is again. 1 hour or portions of 2 would have certainly gotten it done as still allow us to stay with the prison characters and Tyrese and Daryl's reactions to Rick's dealing with Carol.

Martinez was a shitty leader. Dude should have just popped the governor before him and the other guy abandoned him.

Thought last night's episode sucked. Didn't need a full hour to see the Governor take over. And now it looks like they are going to rush into the prison confrontation and end it in one episode when what they should do is stretch it out and develop some tension between the two camps. Of course they could've just done all this with Woodbury, but for some reason the writers decided to butcher that storyline just for the sake of having the Governor shoot all his people. So basically they tacked on half a season of nothing just because they wanted one big scene where the Governor goes apeshit and kills all his people.

So now we are going to have a war between the prison and a bunch of people with no character development. Not impressed.

Which is why I was so confused you said you loved last week’s episode. Last week’s was even more rushed awkward.

I felt the opposite of that regarding last week. Got to see how low the Governor sunk and what brought him back. This week was just the Governor being the Governor, not that there's anything wrong with that. But, I'd like to see more of his camp and the people there before we jump right into the big fight at the prison. Ideally I'd like to see it play out over a few more episodes rather than rush into the big confrontation.

I found this episode to be completely predictable. As soon as we heard that the guy from Oz was a tank operator I knew he was going to kill the other two and use that guy to drive the tank to the prison. So the rest of the episode was boring and predictable.

I did enjoy his new "fishtank" with the zombie at the bottom of the lake. That was a nice touch.

this show is fucking stupid. its called THE WALKING DEAD- AKA, ZOMBIES!!! and the zombies turned into nothing more then a regular nuisence. Now the show is about people dramatically interacting with other people, aka DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

fuck this shit. if people really were in that situation they would group together against the common enemy and figure out how to cure this disease.

OR, at some point, all the zombies are gone BECAUSE THEY ARENT HAVING BABIES. HOW MANY MORE FUCKING ZOMBIES CAN THERE BE

+1000000

I gave up last season, but thats the reason why they got rid of Glen Mazzara because he made it all about dialogue. Problem was they hired really shitty actors/actresses and you have no connection with them.

i think the story line itself is what turned to shit. it started out as an apocalypse, where people were banning together to stay alive, and somehow someway find other people to figure out what the fuck is going on.

that morphed into a series of events that have NOTHING to do with a zombie apocolypse, and now this governer is gonna run a tank into the prison full of kids just to get revenge while also putting his new kids in danger as well.

its just a stupid ass joke. by now, you would think they would have got in contact with someone else out there, and, if not, stop regenerating already killed zombies and change the name of the show to "SURVIVOR: POST ZOMBIE, NOTHING TO SEE HERE"

I'm conflicted about this episode. The explosions, guns, fighting was pretty bad ass. But, everything went so fast. I'm not sure I like how this half-season was structured.
