All these stores do is jack up the price in the months before black Friday to levels they dont really expect items to be purchased at. Then they lower them to the price they think they should sell for on Black Friday. There are not many "deals"

deals went away around 2000- same time online sales became popular and prices became national notice.

before 2000 or so, you actually had to drive store to store to check prices. every store had different prices. now all prices have something to do with the online price, which forced all retailers to start competing with national averages rather then local markets.

so we got left with the same shit, everywhere. youre right, there is no "deals" anymore because everyone is already selling at the smallest margins possible. the only way walmart and others get $30 tablets is they actually buy stripped down models from manufacturers... models that are truly garbage but hey, whatever gets sheep in the door.

the only hold brick and mortar stores have left is customer service. helping people decide what they want. thing is, you wont get that at walmart, especially on black friday. but its fine, its what walmart wants. they dont like smart shoppers. they dont like these videos leaking out every year- but they still come out every year because walmart LOVES whats happening- theyre not about to bring tons of security in and hold people back. these people arent looking for deals, theyre just whipping out their wallets because everyone else is.

Yep, the "sales" are a farce and made up mostly of pre-Black Friday inflated prices or just plain junk. No more deals, just manipulated crap. Goes to show just how much of the population is under the corporate spell. Sometimes literally killing each other over a $50 dollar POS resistive touch screen Android tablet or a Proscan LCD TV. I bet the marketing types and C-suite peeps have hearty chuckles when these fights and stampedes happen.

And now with "Black Friday" being "Black Thanksgiving Week" it goes to show you how bad it is for retailers, as well.

Bet they are all unemployed. Every single one of them, no exceptions!

I give credit to Walmart for letting people know in the ads what kind of stuff is marked down. That 32" inch TV for 98 bucks tells you in the ad that it's 60 MHZ and 720 resolution which is fine for watching TV but not great when watching a bluray.

I don't know why 99%ers don't hold a sit in at one of these stores blocking either entry or the cash registers. It would provide national exposure and really highlight some issues.

It worked out well for me. Walked into Target at 10am and saved $120 on something I was going to buy at some point.

I don't believe the product was out back then.

$379(counting the $100 gift card) at Target for the ipad air was likely the best price there will be until the next version comes out.

The ipad air is the best tablet out. I'm a huge fan of droid smartphones but they haven't caught up with tablets yet.
