I don't know if ESPN is gonna require him to be with the "On field" set for the pregame show. Or if they give him the entire night off for his day. Maybe one quick interview. They should be worried about him if they're not.

But ESPN 1000 is having a thing for him at his restaurant before the game. You know he'll be knocking back a few. You know he'll be in a Bears luxury suite drinking with his buddies before the game.

I say yes. Ditka will be drunk, make an ass of himself when he gives his halftime speech - slurring his speech and not making sense. I'm even gonna predict that he'll fall down and somebody will have to scoop him off the field.

Christ, he was drunk when he was at the White House a few years ago. No reason not to be drunk for you Jersey retirement.

I don't know about that. But I remember, watching as a kid, when he'd go do the Sunday night 10:30 show with Johny Morris. Drunk as hell most of the time. This wouldn't be allowed now a days. TV stations wouldn't allow him on the air. But in the 80s it was accepted.

I don't think ESPN will show the entire thing. Other guys have had numbers retired on MNF and they just show a small clip of the ceremony. Cuz halftime is 15 minutes and they have commercials and Chris Berman needs to say something stupid from the studio.

So if Ditka does make a fool of himself, ESPN won't show it. But the 63k at Soldier Field will have it on their phones and put it on youtube, twitter and facebook.
