Beardown wins this thread. Dolphin clarified the difference between reportage and analysis, but it isn't really necessary. Falling ass-end into predicted facts panning out does not equal credible reporting.

My explanation on this Cutler report makes perfect sense. Drinky did some logical speculation that he turned into a report under the guise of a "Bears source". There was no Bears source if there was any source at all. Might have been drinky's own ankle doctor simply saying "Bears have to be worried about Cutler needing season-ending surgery if that ankle doesn't heal properly". That's just one theory.

All drinky had to do was say sometimes severe high ankle sprains require surgery. But everybody already knew that. So it wouldn't have brought attention to him. Wouldn't have been news, just logical speculation. The way he did it, brought him some attention. And Culter already hinted that he was worried about his ligaments a week before drinky reported it. So Cutler broke it first. After the report, Cutler said it's healing fine and they took the cast off. Must be healing fine if you do that. Must be better this week cuz he was allowed to practice some.

I'd agree with that, but remember, Cutler is not under contract after this year. I don't know that Cutler would want to go into free agency with the Lions game being the last memory teams have of him. He may demand to play the last couple games, even if they are meaningless. It could get interesting, and I can see some tension developing.

That's an excellent point. Proving my theory that his "source" wasn't a "Bears Source". It was either drinky's ankle doctor speculating. Or drinky making a reasonable leap on his own based on what Culter said on his radio show.

Now, it's drinky, I don't expect him to know how to be a journalist. I don't expect him to know what a "Legit source" is either. He's dumb. We all know that. That's was the main reason I sniffed this thing out right from the beginning.

By the way, I didn't win because Cutler is playing this week. As I've said all along, him playing or not was insignificant to this report. I won cuz I knew it was bullshit right from the beginning for the reasons I gave in this thread.

I honestly forget exactly what Drinky's report was... but didn't he imply there was some big disconnect with Cutler and Bears, with the Bears potentially shutting him down? I'd say, considering how difficult of a move it is to start Jay this weekend over Josh, that his story was complete bullshit. If there was any disconnect about anything, Jay isn't starting. If the Bears wanted to sit Jay, they had every reason do it and they didn't.

Drinky's original report was that Cutler had a torn tendon that might put him out for the rest of the year. That the tendon was the reason for the cast since that is the treatment. He said specifically he had it from a source that was not Cutler's radio show.
