Thanks Skilling

We already have more than that in the Western burbs.

 Oh Missourians always crack me up when winter weather strikes.

Barely any snow on the ground, can still see the grass.

Freak out people! FREAK OUT! Rush to the stores. Push shove and do whatever necessary during this snowpocalypse

ok we maybe have about 4-5 inches on the ground right now. And you should hear people. You would think it is 40. And no one down here knows how to really measure snow. Half of them find the largest show drift and measure that.

A friend of my wife on facebook just reported "We got 14 inches on the ground and maybe another 6 more coming."

Now I don't know about where you are and the equipment they have, but I know where I grew up there was no snow removal equipment. So, if you can't get rid of it, it can seem like a lot.

yeah I know. We got snow plows. A bigger issue here is they do not really have a lot of salt or stuff to treat the roads. We really need a giant salt pile.

The giant salt pile highly underrated, that is for sure. Also, people down there truly do not know how to drive in that stuff and truly should stay inside.

oh no doubt. And we have so many hilly country roads in the area too that make it really bad. I have a friend that lives about 12 miles outside of town and he may not be able to get town for awhile. It is seriously a different world.

ok I had to get out this morning for a few mins. We are up to about 7 inches here. Side streets are horrible and people have no clue how to drive. We may not have school for a week.

Snow finally stopped here with around 8-9 inches. That is more snow than we have had the last 2 years combined. Crazy.

First time since I have lived in Missouri that I wished I owned a snow blower.

Where in Missouri do you live? Here in Knob Noster we didn't get anything...

Just about 2 inches or so on the ground here and everyone is driving like a dumbass. I saw 5 or 6 accidents on the short trip to Menards.

Saw the seasons 1st car in a ditch......while headed uphill. Have no idea how the dumb ass ended up there since we have 3/10th's of an inch on the ground. Seems the driver got what he/she deserved.

yup
coming in this morning the main roads were far from perfect, but were at least plowed and cleared...and i was behind some guy going like 20 for at least a mile, it was extremely annoying.. of course you need to be cautious but some people go way overboard and are as much if not more dangerous than the people trying to go 90

Yep. Going too slow can be just as dangerous as going too fast. I was going down LaGrange where the speed limit is 55, and while there was a little bit of snow on the ground, there was no reason to be going less than 30 like I was because of idiots ahead of me. I didn't expect to go 55-60 like I normally can in the morning, but there was no reason to go that slow.

Got lucky with our flight scheduling and was able to get back into town right as it started around 11:00am.

I've never claimed to be anything but a nervous wreck behind the wheel of a car, but yesterday's fellow drivers were anything but Chicago Tough.

It wasn't pretty. Between the people that were just changing lanes without signal and the Indian lady on Milwaukee in Libertyville doing 10 last night, it sucked to have to go out for anything yesterday.

This sucks. We're paying for the last 2 years of fairly mild winters now. This cold and snow pattern doesn't look to be letting up anytime soon. 31 Saturday is the highest temp in the long range forecast.

Oh, and more snow tonite. Yay.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a fairly substantial bag of pig shit all around .... but to hear these newspeople breathlessly tell us that they'll be on early to get us through the impending morning rush, keeping in mind 2-4 inches is all anybody anywhere dares call for, you'd think it was fucking Georgia, or even Missouri.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go fret over my 0.8 mile commute.

I have been driving in snow for 3 days straight now and it looks like tomorrow's commute will be much of the same. This sucks.
