So, let me get this straight.....

Some posters on this board accuse Beardown of having no sources and making shit up yet are totally fine with Matty Drinky doing the same.

I'm seeing peoples true colors come through in this thread.

I don't go on FB enough to know if that's a recent change, or no.

Doesn't CBS radio now control the Score?

Yep. And they've owned them for years, now. But I associate that nomenclature with the fledgling national sports talk network. (Of the idiotic 'CBS sports minute' fame.)

Why would you bother to say you work for CBS, not the Score, when CBS has owned the Score since at least the early 1160 days? Obviously working for the Score means working for CBS, and has for years... Not a sifter of conspiracy theories, but its just something that lept out at me as being odd.

Baby Mac can't follow that logic. No wonder he likes Drinky so much. The dim bulb club is very protective of each other

Good points. It is odd. Just the first thing I thought of when you asked the question.

I doubt the Score would stop him if ANY
station in the country is dumb enough to offer Mr. Lazy with multiple addictions, a job.
Not for real money guaranteed.
Too bad Hernandez got caught, he would have had another huge sucker to con.

That pairing would be pure dynamite, though.

You need a little inter-host tension.

Mike and the Mad Dog fucking HATED each other.

At least they showed up for work !

I was just trying to be funny with that.

You guys are nuts if you're serious.

Mac is 50+ years old. He ain't chasing radio gigs around the country. Certainly not in fuckin' Atlanta at the 3rd ranked sports talker for a night show. He's probably OK with money. Social Security comes in 12 or 13 years for him. He'll find something to kill a decade if it's not radio. Wife is a lawyer.

Maybe I'm missing something but if he posted that Alice Cooper lyric, it sounds like he just got out of rehab.

I assumed that was what you were getting at but it didn't cut through the more interesting Beardown/Baby Mac saga.

Mackeyfish is like Jay Cutler.

I was the one who said it was getting weird that he only posted about politics on a Chicago sports talk radio board. I take partial responsibility.

Childhood friend of my brother's went to rehab and said afterwards that he had never in his whole life gotten laid so much from girls he hardly knew. He said it was literally like a sexcapade.

Seems reliable.

I think something like that happens in a Philip Roth novel.

I assumed that Mac had relapsed as soon as I learned of his departure from the Score. Mac had mentioned many times about how his Wife was out of town traveling on business. I often wondered why Macs Wife would travel so much right after Mac got our of rehab. It isn't a good idea to leave a recovering addict alone. I feel sorry for addicts, but at some point you gotta get your shit together rather than lose your job, money, Wife, Family & friends.

So she should have quit her job? She was independently successful pre-Mac.

Do your bad thoughts ever stop?

I am sad to say without knowing anything about him firsthand that it sounded like something was wrong and wife was gone to me from that Alice thing? Anyway if he comes back to score or something else hope he is good.

So its a bad thought to prioritize ones spouse over ones job? Ok. I doubt that you would tell that to your spouse & family.
She could have forgone travel to help Mac while he was in recovery. It seems like a no brainer to me that a spouse & family should take priority over work. I live my life this way & I manage my employees this way. Family first. Some things, like family are more important than making a few trips for work. I know that I would stay home if I was in this situation. Anyway, my point was that it must have been very very difficult for Mac to frequently be left alone on weekends & to maintain sobriety. Someone close to me was in the same place that Mac was & he did not want to be left alone...ever. He relapsed & couldn't stop & passed away in 2008.

Yeah, kind of like you posting about getting laid.

Except I don't do that.

(Normal) married people don't do that. But you go ahead and do what you do.

Who knows? Maybe the wife threatened to leave him.

Easy to see how ultimatums like that could force a tipping point in facing one's own destructive personal habits.

Yea. My buddy was kicked out of his house by his Wife after she dealt with his addiction & crap & she couldn't take it any more. Addiction sucks. Hopefully there will someday be a cure for it.

funny thing about all this is the same people who have hated Mac since day 1. No matter what he does. yet, none of them said they disliked listening to him. Gloop, Scorehead, Score is Doomed. They all listen. Some of their criticisms are warranted more of the show, than the willingness in my opinion, but the results are similar so they can have their opinions. Some of them obviousely, at one time appreciated a Danny Mac? of course the Score is Doomed "all hispanic" call on the Score was quite a miss?
