I have to give a lot of credit to Matt Spiegel. If you think about the last couple of years, he has been the rock of the 9-1 time slot. Like him or not, he has been through a lot of ups & downs and continues to keep it going. The inconsistency, different co-hosts, uncertainty, etc.

Ideally, I would like to see Mac & Spiegel back together. As I said before, I think they work well together and it is a very decent listen. A tip of the hat to Matt for keeping it going.

Everybody has taken a day off work after doing something they enjoy, rsg. Haven't they? Whether it was attending an extra inning late Sox game, watching a triple OT Bulls game, a hard night of drinking, or just blowing off a day of work. We have all done it. I understand that Spiegel would rather be a rock star - good for him and I wish him luck. Heck, some of us would rather be a sports talk show host, rap star, movie star, richer, etc. The majority of the days Matt misses because of his band seem to be scheduled and prior arrangements are made to cover the time slot.

rsg - I understand that not everybody likes Matt and never will. Many of the people who say they don't like Mac is now wishing he was back. Don't get me wrong - I'm just saying try and look at it objectively and give him a little credit, thanks.

I was just looking at the various guys the Tribune has prognosticating the Bears games on the back page of the Sports section. (Mac is missing from there too.) When checking the records, I noticed that the worst of them all is Matt Bowen at 4-8. That's worse than Steve Rosenbloom who makes joke picks. Are you telling me that with all the film this goof "breaks down" he can't come up with a better record on Bears games than .333? This isn't against the spread either.
