How could we forget the newest member of the station Bruce Levine or his football doppleganger Hub?

It'd be pretty much everyone minus Dr Ken, doug, Zack, and, quite naturally, me. :eye:

only because even I underestimate how smart I am

Yeah, although, I dont think it's neccessarily intelligence with them as much as it's "Hey, man, Ive been around a long time and Ive seen it ALL"

Or you got traded for Don Tiny's dictionary?

Levine is on the score now?

It's Bernstein. No where near as smart as he thinks he is.

I think you would be surprised. Dan has no credentials but he is highly intelligent...basically the resume of every dog walker in this city.

So now the #Bears are rushing Cutler back? He suffered his injury over a month ago and sat out 4 games. What do you people want?

And his "Un-approving look" in his Twitter avatar doesn't help his cause, either.

I agree, but he often conflates being able to speak intelligently about something with being able to speak substantively/knowledgeably about said subject. Ideally you'd do both, but with him it seems he blithely inserts himself into various disciplines without acknowledging the limits of his own knowledge. It makes for aggravating radio, especially when combined with his pompousness.

WSCR has a huge problem, at least to me, in that most of their part of their regular lineup and the majority of their bench is full of people who are simply not likable. Regardless if they even know anything about sports, they are so damn unlikable that I won't listen.

Is we were doing this for AM1000, I think Hood wins. Doesn't seem especially bright, is not articulate, and gets very pissy when people don't agree with him.

That's kind of creepy your thoughts match mine exactly.

Mitch is an idiot. This station will eventually go down in flames.

This is Bernstein in a landslide. Dan can speak well on the radio and has the ability to construct prose on occasion. There is a decent functioning brain in his cranium. I always get the feeling from him (when he drops the medical information, legalese, and sports jargon) that he envisions himself as being capable of excelling at all of those professions. He thinks he could have gone down any of those path. He has a tone, after he spends a night reading some article online I imagine, of someone who thinks they are an expert on a topic just because they read an article from the NY Times, Salon, or Vanity Fair. A guy who then loves telling everyone about what he just consumed in order to impress upon people his alleged Renaissance man persona. Someone who hears terms like zeitgeist, gestalt, and detritus and must drop them into conversations with sports fans.

Jackass/Intelligence Ratio is an irrational number when Rongey is considered.

This may sound weird, but although Bernstein is probably the biggest jackass of them all, somehow he has a tiny bit of likability to him in that you can stomach it....Whereas the others are wannabes and do not have any kind of likability to them.

Also why I'm a big fan of The Dazzler...because he wasn't raised by The Score, he seems to be different from all of them.

There's something to what you are saying here. I'll always come back to the B+B show after a break. Dan is funny. He does good impressions and can have unique insight into sports stories when he wants to try.

But yeah, the army of boring white wannabes...keep it.

Absolutely.

Berstein is smart and funny sometimes.

The gap between actual and self perceived intelligence is much wider with Rongey, imo

Just throwing this out there .... were you thinking of Sarik in Star Trek III when you formed that sentence?

Rongey just said the Cutler/McCown thing would be like if Chris Sale went on the DL, and then came back to start when healthy. He doesn't even realize how much more important a QB is. Mercy.

Cutler is more like Gavin Floyd

absolutely true. in philly there's a guy named howard eskin (gained national fame for a potential statutory rape charge about 12-15 years ago) who is basically just like the *entire* staff of 670's hosts. insufferably smug and the saddest part is...it's freakin' sports. and most of what they complain about is everything that makes fandom and sports fun. but i have never run across a station with more jerkoff hosts than the score. i've listened to sports radio in 5 major cities and haven't heard anything like this.

oh and thanks DT. :)

Laurence

Based on your criteria, here's how I'd rank those names, and I'm gonna add Hub:

Spiegel
Rongey
Hub
Bernstein
Laurence
McKnight

Finfer doesn't belong on the list. If it was how funny someone thinks they are vs reality then he deserves to be on the list. Also, that'd be a much more intriguing CSFMB list IMO. Start the thread RPB.
