Nope. That is the kind of power play you make during contract negotiations, which were less than a year away.

He also said he would be interested in getting out of radio entirely. I assume that goes over about as well as when I tell my dependents that I would rather be a barber.

I don't know what the issue is exactly but I would wish him peace in whatever seems to be plaguing him.
