While I would normally say that no way thats happening, we do know he had cafe with ESPNers and one major thing is that Mac has been on "Unpaid leave" when you dont pay someone, that contract might be hard to enforce the exclusive portion, or any portion of it.

I honestly dont even remember if I posted my thought on possible negotiations, but if Mac did pull this off, I give him tons of credit. I know I have ripped Zimmerman for his negotiating with some people (Not even necessarily Mac). CBS is the employer and when contracts come up and you have all the leverage and you use it, employees dont like you. Its just that simple, because at best, they wont have a job if they stick to their guns and maybe in a few months they find a comparable job.

Imagine having a job for $80K, they say they want you back and the day before your contract is up you get called into the office and your new offer is on the table for $65K, do you sign it? Probably. do you feel like shit? do you hate your employers? Yes to all the above.

Now if this happened to you 2 times before and you know if you let things get closer to the deadline, everyday your leverage gets less and less. What do you do? technically you cant talk to another station for a new deal? However, you can ask for more money. You can keep asking. You can do things that piss off your employer enough that they say, go get another deal and then we can talk.

I dont think this is what it was all about, but it might have come from it.

I said this a llllllooooonnnnngggggg time ago, but I think a major part of this whole thing is Mac not wanting to work with Meatpants. He wanted to bring in Jurko and/or Harry and CBS wouldn't let him. But Mac isn't going to flat out break bad on Speigel knowing he has a little kid and all.

This is hubris on the part of Mitch/Rod. They think they can put out any old shit and still get good ratings. Their careers will burn a fiery death eventually.

I think Mac likes Spiegs but who knows. If anything pissed him off it was the Bernsie and his guys stuff. Everyone one of them is clamped down on this time unlike Goff last time. Even Terry not that long ago stopped himself almost making some kind of Indiana crack. If he was pissed that they didn't get Jurko over I assume it was to be a third chair as Spiegs takes so much time off.

It started as Me vs. Zawaski. Herb inserted himself into the situation. Neither of them are very bright.

So Mac had coffee with an ESPNer? Probably his old producer, Adam Delevit. What's his position at ESPN 1000? He's not the head guy, is he? I don't think so.

I doubt Delevit has final say in hires. But Mac is probably reaching out to Delevit since Mac was once his boss. He's probably trying to get Delevit to convince the big boss at ESPN to take him back.

Mac wants to take on Bernstein again. He beat him once. He thinks he'll beat him again.

Finfer: What about me?

Mac: Don't worry. I'll haul your ass back to ESPN once I get in.

Finfer:  Wait...on second thought, maybe I need to stop following you. Starting to look bad. Plus what the hell am I gonna do at ESPN that I'm not doing at the Score? ESPN doesn't let producers do shows anyway. That's why you brought me to the Score in the first place.

Mac: You're coming with me and you're gonna like it, god dammit!!!!

Finfer: Yes, sir.

I cannot see Mac going back to ESPN. All the frustrations he had while there the first time still remain.

I don't believe that Mac hated his situation so much that he started smearing his feces on the walls and hearing the government talking to him in his tv. There would be too much damage to his reputation to go that route. Dahl had these kind of disputes all the time and Mac was there to observe. He would know how to play the game better.

I'm really surprised one of the producers didn't use the "Don't you know how to read?" line. Whenever there is an argument or debate and they are wrong (which is 90% of the time) it's their go-to tweet. Drinky uses it everyday...go figure.

why can't these dipshits takeover some low-rent station? Mac, North, Murph, hell even Tom Shaer.......... well maybe not Tom Shaer. I'd listen to the others though.

I'm sure lots of people would be critical of this statement, but I would listen to North and Jiggets followed by Murph in mid-days and Mac for afternoon drive. I don't care what station it is, as long as it has a clear signal. Hell, they could go back to one that signs off at sunset for all I care.

That would be smart, since half of the afternoon drive happens after sunset for about the next 10 weeks.

If ESPN 1000 put North on in afternoons, he would beat B&B in the ratings...and every single CSFMB member would be tuned in.

I don't want the ESPN/CBS domination. I want a third option!

At least part of that is not true. North is the reason I didn't listen to the Score, until Mac went back there. Then HE told me to PTFB, so I did. Now it's only for Sox games and MNF.

I agree, there is talent out there to fill a third roster, but it would just dilute the entire pool, not add listeners.
