This, I've been making plans for tonight and Saturday assuming there would be a game. Just looked to see who was playing an hour ago to see nothing for each.

Feels like i was just enrolled in a Jelly of the month club.

Hey! If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Roger Goodell, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?

It's like the NFL is saying "SPEND TIME WITH YOUR WIFE!".

No. That is what Christmas is for.

Can. Not. Wait.

They should do a Friday night game the weekend of Thanksgiving, and at least one Saturday night game thru week 16. Screw more Thursday night games.

They can't have Friday games during high school season or Saturday games during college season pursuant to their antitrust exemption.

Thursday Night Football was invented only to serve as a measure to make the rules changes that followed its creation appear less idiotic by comparison.

Yes, perfect way to wind down regular season/ramp up for playoffs.

I thought the Thursday games (and Saturday games once they were allowed) were fine from Thanksgiving to the end. It was a good idea to have additional featured games once you're in the home stretch. As an every-week thing, everyone seems to agree the product is garbage. They all watch it anyway, though, which is why the NFL wants to add a Tuesday or Wednesday package next. People will eat that shit up with a spoon, too. They'll even suck it up with a straw if it comes out watery. Football!

The key is to add a second bye week, and have every team who plays on Thursday be coming off a bye week.

Might be something they implement to go along with the London team no one in London is asking for.

I think the NFL doesn't want any more games where you can't have water-cooler discussions the next day.

That AND an 18 game season cannot happen unless you want regular season NFL games being played in 90 degree weather in August, or the Super Bowl to happen on February 20th.

There's going to be a point where NFL football is played 365 days a year.

Oh, & ticket prices will triple.

huh? while i dig a good conspiracy theory i don't see that one.... the NFL has long desired to carve out another night of the week where they can maximize their ratings cuz they're using these games on new nights to prop up their network (cuz aside from the redzone channel and TNF, what else do they got going on? a football life?)

you can bet your arse that if they thought they could get away with it they'd have a tuesday night football game as well, giving us NFL on sunday/monday/tuesday/thursday so therefore ppl were never more than 2 days away from NFL football.

hell, if vince mcmahon thought he could get away with it he'd have tuesday night smackdown! as well..... but they don't wanna give up their lofty end-of-the-workweek perch to do that, hence the experiments with wednesday night's main event and saturday morning slam. can't overexpose that product, eh?

The NFL is heading in the opposite direction. Lots of changes which do not improve the product.

And I think the biggest reason for the Thursday games was to give NFLN a game to make it more needed in cable packages, etc.
