What the article doesn't say is where these banks are located. Doesn't seem likely that US banks would seize money based on a contract dispute in the Dominican. And if he's got all his money in Dominican banks, well, I guess that's not too smart.

Another reason for him to bat .233 this season. I hope he rebounds but the young kid obviously needs guidance of some sort.

His triumphant run with the Mets proved that. Wasn't that bad. You're in mid-season form, BF.

The young kid didn't do anything...but the kids father sure did signing a deal with the baseball academy when "the kid" was 15. The father promised 3% of all career earnings. The kid had no say in this.

Now imagine if your father signed that kind of deal with your high school when you were that age... or maybe you sign a deal with your local little league coach and promise him 3% of everything your son earns...... Obviously it would have about 0% percent chance of being held up in a US court...so OBVIOUSLY "The Kid" doesn't guidance on this issue .....he needs a lawyer .... which he has and his lawyer has filed a counter suit.

How it can be legal for a Father to obligate his 15 year old Son to donate 3% of his future earnings FOR LIFE, is beyond me. but, it's in the Dominican, not here, so who knows...

He was as crazy as a loon! He once referred to the crosstown skipper as "that young man". The Cubs manager was 3 years older than him.

His father figure talk made people ill.

One of those 2nd place teams was 75-86. He did have a couple good teams he made worse. Lou Piniella clowned him in the 2000 playoffs.

Better than Don Baylor with the Cubs.

No. Piniella clowned himself. I've watched thousands and thousands of baseball games and I have NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, other than that singular time, seen a manager go out to first- undermining his coach for no other reason than to aggrandize himself and make a spectacle- for a conference with a baserunner. Foulke should have thrown a fastball at his fucking head on the way back to the dugout.

Piniella is a clown and he has proven it time and time again. He's Terry Bevington with better players and a higher career batting average. Drunk in the dugout.

How many times does a guy have to manage the winningest team in the league before bowing out weakly in the playoffs before we call him a turd?

He was a fucking hot dog as a player and he was a hot dog as a manager. That was some genius move against the Sox? Showboating out at first base? Well if he outmanaged Manuel he also has to live with the fact that someone outmanaged him when his great Cub teams went three and out and when he was getting his ass kicked with a 116 game winner.

Drunk in the dugout.

No doubt he got outmanaged several times, and no doubt he is overrated as a manager. But to compare him to Bevington is just silly. Pinella drunk and being a clown could manage circles around Bevington.

I don't know about that. I'm sure Bevington could get a 116 win team beat too.

 Bevington would never be the coach of a 116 win team.
