I would add Grossman to the exception list. He made some good throws, but the stats are misleading. Alot of the yardage came on WIDE OPEN throws that you or I could probably make. He made a couple good throws, but also has some awful ones and the botched snap. I dont see this game as a sign of improvement from Grossman. I am still interested to see Orton in the 2nd half. Griese is a very experienced veteran, preseason means very little to him by now

Robbie Gould is nicknamed the mayor??? I never heard that before. Nobody will replace the Great Fred Hoiberg

He did perform very well after the fumble tonight...last time I said that he through the INT...so maybe that means something.

Based on the first half tonight, Irish you might serve the Bears well to just not compliment them the entire season. They could end up holding a trophy in Arizona at the end of the year if you dont.

I'm starting to worry about the second running back position. With Cedric Benson's obvious dislike for playing with any injury, and the likelihood of him suffering some type of minor injury during the season, I worry that the Bears don't have enough behind Benson. I don't wanna play the "what if" game from the pessimist point of view, I just hope Angelo is looking to pick up some more help in the backfield before the regular season starts.

I think that's a sign of bad faith. He pretty much did everything you want him to do tonight. Yes, some of the throws were easy, but you have to make those throws as well. There were also passes between the numbers dropped, and there were a few skinny posts on the outside as well. Not to mention that this is the game that most approximates the regular season, with specific gameplans and whatnot. You always have to give a guy credit for throwing 211 yards in a half, unless he plays for Hawaii or his name is Andre Ware.

If Garrett Wolfe can provide anything this year, I think him plus AP will be an adequate backup. I would agree that if Benson misses over 1 game it could become a serious issue.

Not sure what game you are watching but I only saw 1 throw I would call bad. Half his incompletions were passes that were thrown away. He has thrown the ball great with the exception of that pass and he would have had 3 touchdowns if Bradley tried to catch the ball.

not sure what game you are watching but the 49ers defense has been as bad as any NFL defense could possibly be. Almost every completion was wide open. He has not had to make very precise difficult throws all game long. Considering that, I think his performance leaves a little to be desired

Man, I think just about every starting QB in the league has fumbled once tonight. Alex Smith fumbled. Tony Romo fumbled. Jay Cutler fumbled. Rex Grossman fumbled. Tarvaris Jackson fumbled. Sloppy play all over the league, I suppose.

Hey, is there something going on with the Redskin's I don't know about? Something named T. Collins is throwing passes in the 1st quarter.

Agree to disagree I guess. Watching the entire first half, Grossman did not impress me a whole lot. He still has focus problems and I think that manifests itself more in the regular season and post season. He is definitely talented, nobody questions that, I just havent seen the mental fortitude you would hope for so far from him. We'll see

Nothing is more indicative of crappy play than offensive penalties like illegal formation and false start. San Fransisco may not be very good this year.

I don't know what order most qbs read their routes usually...but my problem with Rex is that he reads his routes long to short ALL THE TIME. If you're winning by 2 or 3 tds, you don't even need to look at the deep route until last....
Nas, I know you pay attention to this shit, and you know as well as I do that half the time he throws a 40 pass that there's one or two guys wide open underneath. That was my biggest problem with him last year and it doesn't seem like he's learned his lesson.
I not like most people that say they just want a QB to not lose...I want a QB that can win some games for us...but he has to learn how to not give away games that we already have won. Does that make sense? or did I have too much beer at the Sox game...

The Colts have thrown for over 400 yards against the Lions tonight- 233 for Manning and 171 for Sorgi. The Lions have scored three points (NOTE: Kitna is not playing) Sometimes objects in the rear view mirror are no closer than they appear.

My point was that Vernon Davis is a freak with 4.4 speed. He's a tough matchup for every SS. He would probably give Polamalu and Reed some trouble.

Judging by the score, Im sure you had way too much beer at the Sox game if you are a sox fan. I agree with you 100% and thats why I dont think Rex is their guy. He wants the Home Run every time. They have such a stellar defense and special teams that they dont need a QB to have that mentality. You want a mature veteran who will make key 3rd down throws and not fumble snaps and throw pics. He doesnt need to blow you away with Sportcenteresque highlights, just someone who wont turn the ball over and make key 3rd and 8 throws when necessary. Grossman isnt that guy.

I think Grossman will be a very good QB in this league and proabbly even make the Pro Bowl in his career. However he is the wrong QB right now for this team. A team this talented only has so many years of a window open to win the SB, and those years are running out. I dont know if Grossman is mature enough this year or next year to take them there.

Next time the "You Drink, you drive, you lose" commercial comes back on, look in the background for the big black kid with dreadlocks in the background and tell me if that kid is drinking directly from a huge, plastic bottle of booze. If he is, that guy is my new hero.

Haha, that was right up there with Hasselbeck's "We'll take the ball and we're going to win it!!!" statement

why is the first team defense out there? Urlacher just got stood up by a former QB.

The 13 points were lucky and misleading. The Bears defense looks in top form along the lines of the Ravens, and everybody here knows that is their mealticket to the playoffs. They are getting production out of every position on their defense. andyROONEY could QB this team to 10 wins with the D playing like this.

It is also a Tommy Harris-less defense. That's kinda scary.

If AP keeps running like that, he's going to earn some more carries in my Madden game tonight.

Olin Kreutz seems like an awesome team mate, but anyone who knows anything about the Bears and NFL knows it has nothing to do with him and everything to do with Grossman
