I'm a big Rage fan. We thought it would be fitting since they were at Alpine Friday night.

We are going update our music beds. Not get rid of the old, just add a few fresher songs and bands. We all love The Who, Zeppelin, AC/DC, Kravitz...etc. But there are some newer bands out there that we need to get into the rotation.

Any suggestions?

What about the soundtrack to Disney's "High School Musical"?

Actually Lenny Kravitz puts on a real amazing live show. I saw him 2 years ago opening for Aerosmith and he was actually way way better than Aerosmith. I was dissapointed to see him get off and Aerosmith take the stage. It was probably the most surprised I have been by an artist in awhile, it was a really good show

Whenever I think of Mac and Harry's on-air relationship, I think of this song

Politically Correct - SR71

...too bad they have the politicians dropping soundbytes in there.

Right Now off the same CD ain't too shabby for the 'intro riffs' either: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToLMcKa6fhA

Kravitz's first four albums are solid. Let Love Rule, Mama Said, Are You Gonna Go My Way, and Circus are all fresh and different. After that, he got commercial and went for the hits. He even made a disc that was only sold at Target stores.

I've seen him in concert about six times and he puts on hell of a show. Just don't see him twice on any one tour...he does not change up his set lists. You can see bands like PJ and the White Stripes weeks in a row and never see the same show twice.

I LOVE Lenny Kravitz, but admit he's kind of a greatest hits kind of guy. He'd release a 2 singles off an album which would be totally killer songs... then the rest of the album would totally blow. Not to mention, he has faded quite a bit.

The only thing overrated about Lenny Kravitz was his cover of "American Woman". I love Lenny Kravitz, but I thought that cover was totally lame... and it was a huge hit... go figure.

How about a local band that is signed with a major label - the Lovehammers (aka Marty Casey & Lovehammers). They have produced a few cds plus all of their songs are on I-tunes (or whatever it's called). All four members are local guys (Hickory Hills & Oak Lawn).

I thought Marty Casey participated in the MJH Golf Outing. If he couldn't press enough flesh there to get his band some airtime, I don't think it's gonna happen.

How about Bongwater Chad laying down some bass riffs for some bed music?

Yes: Tool. Actually, 1000 has been using Tool songs as beds for some time, but for whatever reason they never make it as a featured artist. Get it done!
