Rozner just assured us that Rodgers is not playing.

After McCown threw up 45 points against the Cowboys all we heard all week from these two knuckleheads was how it was meaningless since Dallas allows 400+ yards per game. But the Great Jay Cutler can only put up 11 against a team that allows 390 yards a game? I guarantee you're going to hear all day that this loss wasn't Cutler's fault and if a caller disagrees he will be browbeaten and called football retarded.

By the way, Foles is a pretty good replacement level quarterback, isn't he?

Quite a few posters would say same thing. It's cool though . Don't you understand Jay was down 21 points? Totally precludes him from being able to move the ball.

But it isnt as cut and dry as that. One game was at home, one was on the road. The Bears were never down big in the Cowboys game so you still had the full playbook at your disposal.

Cutler played poorly but the special teams and defense certainly didnt help the cause. One 3 and out series shouldnt result in your team being down 14 pts. Isnt it logical to assume that the offense started pressing at that point and panicked?

I have not read anyone here that has said Cutler should not get any blame for the game.

But there is no doubt that Cutler is not the top of the food chain for blame this week. There are others more worthy this week.

I don't understand why you and others are so pissed off with Cutler right now after you watched the abortion on defense and special teams last night? Where is your anger about them? About Mel Tucker? About the Spec Teams coach?

They scored 11 points. He threw another pick 6. The Eagles are just as bad on D as the Cowboys but all anyone wanted to do was qualify McCowns big game against them as well sure he lit it up its the Cowboys. I'm using the same criteria to wonder why someone who is so much better couldn't outplay Matt Cassel against the same defense .

It's seems really fashionable right now because it requires the least amount of effort to make.

If you start talking about "special teams mistakes" or "defensive concerns", then you have to start going into further detail by picking at coaches, players, contracts, schemes, etc.

With Cutler, you can just yell his name like that sound drop of the guy yelling "Obama!", and you get enough grunts from enough people that it feels satisfying enough, though to me it's kinda like yelling about the couch not being a good match with the living room rug during a four-alarm house fire.

So, what are you looking for, rogue? Do you think Cutler is worse than Matt Cassel?

McCown played great in relief. Better than Cutler has played since he returned.

And that was a road game for the Eagles.

Are you saying that you want Cutler gone? I can understand that view point.

If you are saying that you really think McCown is a better QB than Cutler, then I dont understand what your point is. McCown was out of football for a reason. He caught fire this season but even he still lost to the Rams and Vikings.

The Cutler ship has sailed for me long ago (get rid of him), and as Bowen said Mel Tucker isn't missing tackles out there it's the personnel.
These Defensive guys are trying to make shit happen and they are "selling out" trying to make a play when they should be doing the jobs they were coached to do. Not staying in gaps, not keeping edge contain, you name it they ain't doing it.
How Dave Toub was allowed to go elsewhere is a crime against humanity because this new guy sucks eggs and Hester is now a liability out there along with that sack of festering horse uteri Adam Podlesh.
The failure for the offense to do ANYTHING against the Iggles defense is also astonishing and deserves some blame too.

He also now owns, statistically speaking, the best season for a quarterback in Bears history -- his rating of 109.0 surpasses Luckman's 107.5. (His four passes last night gave him enough to attempts to qualify.) He achieved this for a reason.

I don't think it's easy to reconcile these two facts/reasons.

I agree it's kind of ridiculous, but it's apparently enough for the record books.

Rozner was totally wrong about the Philly-Dallas line.

He said before it was known that Romo was OUT, Philly was 3 point dogs. He said now they are 3 point favorites. No. I checked it yesterday. Philly was 3 point favorites before it was known that Romo was out. I haven't seen it move at some places. But I'm sure it will be at least 3 points.

As soon as I heard Rozner was hosting, I was in. Dan and Terry are two guys who could really use a lineup change.

I got excited until I remembered it was Mandatory Bears Coverage Day, which sort of takes a lot of the offbeat fun out of the day no matter who's hosting.

This is the thing that puts lie to the idea that dan has any hyper-intelligence. He's a smart guy, sure, just like many guys who post here are smart guys. He's not some special thing. Rozner is a smart guy too. That's why when bernstein is paired with him, he can't run wild and act like a petulant Caller Bob the way he does with idiots like Boers, drinky, and Larry. Rozner calls him right out on his foolishness or purposely makes an obvious effort to be the anti-bernstein. Like responding politely when a callers begins with a standard greeting instead of the B&b recipe of deep sighing, browbeating the caller for having the nerve to say "hey, how you doin'?", and finishing with Terry stuttering and stammering in a bigger display of idiocy than the most moronic caller. Is Curtis Joseph a Hall of Famer?  Keep on keepin' on, Barry. I love hearing you assert Alpha power over dinky dan.

Acting like there just aren't enough hours in the day to waste time with pleasantries is right out of the Francesa playbook, which both makes sense (it's New York, everyone's in a hurry) and doesn't (Francesa fills time by talking in circles to fill time so that he can fill time by talking in circles so that it fills time because there's time to fill so he talks in circles because it fills time).

It's just churlish and dumb. Sure, it's tedious, but it sounds more natural than jumping right into your point with no greeting, and certainly sounds better than "hi how are you"/"UGH OH MY GOD I'M FINE JUST GET TO YOUR POINT ALREADY GEEZ."

EDIT: I will say, though, that I'm glad Dan tightened things up back when they did the Steve Stone call-ins, because mother Mary and Joseph did it ever get annoying to hear every idiot preface every call with "oh my god Stoney you're the best and you taught me everything I know about baseball and we need you to come back and do Cubs games again because you're the best ever."
