BernSTINE is just getting exposed for what he really is...an empty headed, ignorant, sheltered moron who greatly overvalues his own intelligence.

He sounds really smart when he talks to "idiot" callers, controls conversations and has Boers act has the echo chamber.I bet he thought he was stepping up and expressing his edgy and taboo thoughts (which turn out to be dumb, ill-informed and poorly expressed) and would get positive looks or at the very least bait the trap for yet another shit phoned in show.

The light has been shown on Daniel BernSTINE, the curtain has been pulled back and what we see is a moron with a thesaurus talking out of class who hasn't a thought in his skull.

Remember, the national media is behind on this story. JORR and Beardown had it first!

Problem with that nerd is he is clueless.

Like Bernsie or not, his article was right.

Like Bernsie or not, his article was right.

But it wasn't. The player got hurt. bernstein, wearing his meatball fan hat, is frustrated that the best player on his favorite team can't stay on the court. That frustration caused his racism- which is obvious to any regular listener of his show- to come bubbling to the surface. He then made the mistake of putting it into words. And now there are consequences. It's not just a couple crackpots at CSFMB calling him out anymore.

Did you watch that video? The guy is clueless.

What consequences are there? A boob that cannot hardly talk on the video saying "this is bad....oh and they got a bad website too." The guy never mentions anything from a racial standpoint either.

Wow terrible consequences there.

How likely is it that DB is acting as a mouthpiece for one or a set of his friends/sources who allegedly have connections to Bulls upper management? Just curious...

Why is that guy clueless? What has Rose done wrong, except get hurt? Anyway, it's not just those goofs on that show. Anyone who is discussing the column is criticizing bernstein.

Why can't bernstein be a humble hometown radio host like Wally Phillips instead of a shock jock?

You are seriously asking what has Rose done wrong after watching this drama play out over the last couple of years? What hasn't Rose done wrong. It goes way deeper than Rose just getting hurt.

But either way, Bernsie wrote a piece criticizing him, not much different than many people here who have been critical of Rose.

What are these horrible consequences that Bernsie is going to have to deal with?

Do you really think it bothers him? He is loving all the attention. His status remains the same today as it was before all of this started. He is the face of sports talk radio in Chicago. Is he going to lose his job because of this? Not hardly.

I side with JORR on Rose; he really hasn't done anything beyond waffling on his intent/ambition to play last year. It's really a non-issue this year. Bernstein on the other hand is trying to browbeat him into adopting a new personality that suits Bernstein's own tastes and sensibilities. That whole dynamic can have racial and classist undertones.

So him being critical of the Bulls plans all the while refusing to even attempt to play after being cleared by doctors is cool? His brother running his yap constantly is just fine?

What do you think he has done wrong?

RFDC wrote:

No, it was much more than that and that's why it's getting national play.

RFDC wrote:

You never know how these things can blow up. Sometimes it takes awhile. It would suggest that the heat his is taking isn't going unnoticed by WSCR/CBS management. How about if Reggie Rose shows up on TV next week with Jesse Jackson? That might sound silly, but things like this blow up all the time.

RFDC wrote:

I don't think he's happy that people with national platforms are calling him out on his racism. Deadspin is big enough that bernstein is constantly quoting it. I would imagine it's big enough that he is concerned about being painted as the racist he is by them. And now the NBA itself is firing on him. Shit, even the B&b PR wing over at MSFMB can't defend him on this one.

You got a quote of him criticizing the Bulls plans?

His body is his own. The Bulls and their doctors have an agenda. It may not be the same agenda as Rose's.

Why should Reggie Rose have to shut up any more than dan bernstein?

What national platform has called him on racism? The video above mentions nothing about racism. The deadspin article mentions nothing about racism.

So there is nothing to this article at all? Just because Rose is not quoted personally they just made all this up?

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baske ... -1.1547747

I don't recall you being on this side of things while Rose was sitting on his ass after being cleared. But suddenly Bernsie takes a shot at him and you become sympathetic to Rose and his brother. Amazing how that happens...

Obviously, I'm not the only one who read his column that way. What do you think is so significant about the column that it is getting this kind of play? A radio guy criticized an athlete? Oh, yeah, that's big news! There are all kinds of undertones here. If you want to ignore them, I can't really see you as anything but an apologist for bernstein.

Again, I'm not sure what you think Rose did wrong? You think he should have played when he didn't feel ready based on the advice of the same doctors who couldn't diagnose meningitis. Who do you think cares about Rose more- his brother or Jerry Reinsdorf?

you said very clearly national platforms were calling him out on his racism. I would like to see an example of that.

I have read the article and watched the video. I see nothing about racism.

It's more than just meatballism. Remember that Dan was 100% behind Rose moving at his own deliberate pace and when it was the meatballs who wanted him running around on a bad knee to be Chicago Tough. The tipping point was when Derrick Rose and his handlers defied the wishes of wealthy Jews.

Also known as "Members of the tribe that certainly must be smarter than homeboy Derrick and his dumb talk." How could Derrick possibly not listen to white men much smarter than him? Shut up, Derrick and stop listening to your world class medical team...you're too dumb to know anything, patch it up and get back on the planta....I mean basketball court!

Good point. Dan has changed his thoughts on this.

But so have many here. When Rose was not playing after being cleared by doctors there was a big group of people here railing on him continually. But now that Dan has went after Rose they have changed their tune as well.

Was it racism that pushed Dan to call out Kane when he was having issues?

But criticism of Rose can be of different types. Here and elsewhere you'll find guys getting on Rose because they think he's soft and selfish. Bernstein's critique/invective is different, as the excerpt DiC provided illustrates.

To the extent that he had different (read: higher) expectations for a middle-class white person's failings than a poor black person's failings, yes. Where've you been?

To the extent that he had different (read: higher) expectations for a middle-class white person's failings than a poor black person's failings, yes. Where've you been?

 Always bashing the Jew. I guess you are Anti-Semitic.

Yeah I get that it can be different types.

I just think you guys are holding him to a different standard than you hold yourselves to--or even people like Jason Whitlock. Whitlock can have negative opinions about white players, even make fun of "whitey" as a consitent part of his show/schtick, but yet is he considered racist in everything he does?

But in the end I guess it is Bernsie's own fault. He is part of a show that uses racial stuff consistently. So I guess it is only natural for people to call him racist for having an opinion about a black player.
