very very sad. on xmas eve she got hit and was pushed into oncoming traffic. even better was her father was a volunteer firefighter and was the one who pulled her out of the car.

I don't think that kind of thing is uncommon in small towns. One of my partners was from a small town in Minnesota and when his brother died in a car wreck, my partner was one of the first responders at the scene.
