Just call it the Cub Fan show! Hey you are only on for 2 hours a day! Call it what it is, I might have more respect for you.

Why are people so baffled and upset that a radio show in Chicago is primarily focused on the Chicago Cubs? Would there be similar anger if it was a Bulls-centered show? Of course not.

I don't have a problem with Murphy talking Cubs - they are actually playing for something, and deserve the attention. There's plenty of time to talk about whether Josh Fields can play LF on a regular basis next season.

There is nothing wrong with Murphy "talking cubs".

There is, however, something wrong with Murphy talking.

I'm not going to tell you he's great because he's not, but I will suggest to not listen if you don't like him.

I wouldn't listen if I had a gun pointed at my head, he's that insufferable.

Although, its his time to have some fun. The Cubs are doing SOOOOO well, with a blazing two game lead in the division, they're pretty much a lock for post season play......

He is not as bad as Harry. I have never heard Murph refer to the Cubs as offensive juggernauts after beating a couple of the Reds AAA pitchers.

Murph is the most knowledgeable baseball guy on the station.

While he usually does not initiate Sox talk, if you call him and bring up a play in a game, he usually watched it.

Gotta give the guy credit for knowing his shit.

You may not like the nasal tones, but he is prepared and has original thoughts, unlike a certain other show.

I do agree he watches the games, and a lot of our other hosts go out of the way to announce they don't watch games.

I agree.
Mike has watched his share of CUBS BASEBALL GAMES. That doesn't make him an expert. He is routinely exposed for his lack of real baseball knowledge every Thursday afternoon.
Mike bleeds Cubbie blue and that's fine. I don't really call a lot of his statements analysis, just furious ramblings from a Bleacher Bum perspective.
Tuesday's show was appointment radio. I waited to hear him go off on Z.

I don't understand, so you think that Murph talking about the only team that has a remote chance of making the playoffs is bad. Would you rather him spend 2 hours talking about the funeral they have going on the south side like Rongy does every Saturday, and after every game. I mean puleeeze, can they shoot poor Brian Anderson enough? I loved last years Brian Anderson's flogging after every game, in which after about four or five calls Chris Rongey declared the subject dead. Maybe we should have called that the ...... bear with me....... "The Brian Anderson beatdown hour with Chris Rongey as your mderator/host"

I listenened to enough of it last year, this year I flip to WMVP anytime the SOX play.

Same with Harry but that doesnt mean they give valuable insight into said play or game.
