Dr. Ken, I'm not marginalizing anything. I promise you...I wish I were a Bears fan. But I'm always going to be forthright about my true feelings. It's been my position to not criticize others for the teams for which they root....as I really couldn't care less who does or doesn't like what I like or don't like. I won't pretend to know why other Score guys have strong thoughts on their CUSTOMERS. That's what you guys are... North had that correct and I won't ever forget that. I respect our customers....but I'm not going to go along with them just to appease them. There are enough hosts in this town who do that.

I almost invariably program the show from a fan's perspective. "Smart" sportstalk usually = boring radio.

Fair enough.

I loved to hate North. Still listen in from time to time to disagree or laugh at what he's saying.

But, the Score is damn near a singular voice rather than a collection of personalities. It could use a dose of North-like craziness.

Glad you're back, Mac. Hope you are well.

Get back on the Sox bandwagon, Mackey Fish. Hahn balled up and he's not done. Should be a fun year.

You have been stripped of passion for anything right now. I understand and I think we all sympathize with you. Things will turn around. Its not a good time in life to be making any definitive proclamations about who you are.

Not at all. Think we are intelligent enough here to interpret that statement as a clear shot at BernStine. Also clear enough to see that while Mac is on record as saying he likes Lil Danny , he thinks the type of radio show that he does and that the rest of the Score take their cues from , blows .

Not the best business model. If the customers were respected, we wouldn't get so much Holmes.

So if the McCaskey's sell the team and they win the Super Bowl you'll love them again?

Understand the answer to that question and you understand sports talk radio...most of life for that matter.

It's almost like an ancient truth got turned into myth when North destroyed the golden age of the station and that myth was changed to a lie when the Bernstein era began

I don't know who Mac is talking about but the Bears are not cheap. They usually place in the top 10 in salary. Maybe it was a front office type?

The only radio listeners left are old fucks like us. I ride the Metra home and have my damn Radio Shack walkman with me. People look at me like I'm some kind of escapee from the mental ward.

If you want, sure. Just a pet peeve of mine that I notice anytime somebody says or posts on Facebook about their "first annual" event.

Buffone schooling Mac on why a Bear fan would not find last night's game "entertaining". Good stuff.

This. There is something wrong with me that I feel just like Buffone. I felt like setting the house on fire last night. I was so fucking mad. I have a screw loose.

Too bad he sounds like Bernstein in his initial responses in this very thread. Being "a fan of the NFL" is no different from the tired framework Bernstein's used for years to scold NBA fans. At least with Bernstein though, you get the sense that it's a reflection of his actual views, even if they're exaggerated for maximum trolling potential. Mac will evidently program from a fan's perspective while actually holding none of those views himself because the Bears were meanies to one of his friends.

is danny green and gold going to be ok?

Of course, now he will be a 49ers fan or a Carolina fan for the remainder of the playoffs.
