Who's hosting today? I'm guessing McKnight and Finfer.

what the hell? 2 days after the end of the NFL season and there is no mac and meat. That is ridiculous. They should be calling in at least once an hour to discuss things on this important day

Oh yeah, I think you're right. Mac kept saying he'd see everybody on Thursday but I guess that's because everybody else is gone.

Mac teased Blackhawks talk coming up. Seems he went to the game last night and just stayed down town at a hotel because of the weather. $93 for the room - not bad.

OK. I'm out. Dan Pompei is supposed to be on later. Somebody give me a heads up when he's coming on.

When did Dan become "not a Bears fan"? I must have missed that show. I could have sworn that last year he was, and that he was so happy that Lovie got fired. Prior to Smith getting fired he was ready to lead the march to Halas Hall with pitchforks and ropes...right? I always figured his disinterested tone with the Bears this year (and sports in general) was due to him being off the wagon and most likely hitting the sauce, but I guess it was just because he turned in his Bears fan card.

I just saw the "Meatball Mac" thread where he says he isn't a fan and only likes the Hawks, and he asks everyone why its important if he's a fan or not. Well it is kind of important because this is a local sports show, and if the host comes off as not giving a shit about what he's talking about then it comes off as bad radio. The fact that the hosts do care, or seem to care, is the reason to avoid national talk shows and stick to the local ones. It just makes more compelling radio.

I wish Mac the best because he seems like a cool guy, but if you don't care about the local teams then do something national, or do a gambling show, or try to get in on the Hawks broadcasts in some fashion, because if you don't give a shit, or like what you're forced to talk about all day, you're going to just slip off the wagon again.

They're kind of giving it to Hub saying "Hub is the guy who always knew everything was going to happen."

That good thing of Mac not giving a shit about the local scene is that he's not worried about biting his tongue and burning bridges.

Bears made him a multi-millionaire and gave him the keys to the Ferrari. Wanny couldn't figure out where the ignition button was.

Bruce Levine, yet again a teammate of Mac and Finfer's, coming up after the break to talk Cubs/Sox.

A little baseball on New Years Eve. I like it!

He is a fair weather meatball fan. It is just convenient for him after they lose to throw that out there.

I got a buddy of mine that is like that with the Rams. When Kurt Warner and Faulk were there and they were tearing things up, he was all about the Rams. Had jerseys and all he wanted to talk about was the greatest show on turf. Now that they suck suddenly he "never really liked them that much...doesn't respect their management..."

You can guarantee when the Bears have another good season he will be all over them with mustard drooling off his chin

I kind of agree. Dan's sports loyalties blow in the wind. Remember when he loved Northwestern enough to roll around in the stands with STU GOTZ
