I've got no problems with this. If you didn't do any PEDs, you definitely stood by and did nothing while others in the clubhouse stuck needles in their asses.

In a way I'm okay with this, as long as he is consistent. I agree with him, you don't know if Maddux did PEDs or not. He certainly could have been on something that helped with longevity as opposed to building bulk. It would have been nice if he would have juiced a bit in 2004 along with the rest of the Cubs...

Im ok in that if guys with names like Ruth, Williams, Wagner, Foxx,Mays, Aaron, etc didn't get unanimous votes I didn't expect Maddux to. While there isn't a 100% certainty he isn't a PED guy he's about as close as you can come in that era to saying he wasn't.

I don't have issue with his rationale, but then how does he exempt Morris, who played from 1978-1994? There a lot of "heavy suspicion" guys who played during this time frame, his career overlapped the Steroid Era concurrently

I don't have any specific suspicions about pitchers but you have to have doubts and cannot just say "well, they weren't big". Look at a cheater like Armstrong in a different sport. Sure doping isn't roids or HGH but that guy for one sure has a pitcher build.
