The ground temperature can be warmer than freezing for snow to fall. The air temperature at around 5000-8000 feet is what is important. Frozen things don't instantly melt...so it is very possible to see snow at 40°F. It just won't stay for very long on the ground.

I don't know, but what's the point of a giant truck for most people? Families were much larger during the Baby Boom and people managed to get around without Suburbans and Hummers. What's the point of a large HP small hatchback? I mean who needs to have over even really 150 HP for such a small vehicle? You don't need to exceed 55 MPH on almost all roads in Illinois and 70-75 on almost any road in America and at no point ever would anyone need to have a sub 18 second 1/4 mile time to get to work or to Whole Foods or Manchu Wok.

Seriously, I don't really care what anyone else drives. I just hate SUVs. I dislike not being able to see what's in front of the guy in front of me. And the worst is when there's construction and there's a quarter inch bump on the street or a set of mildly bumpy railroad tracks and these assholes with their cars that are built to traverse the surface of the moon have to slow down to two MPH.

I'm pretty sure I don't get near 28 city. And I've got no beef with a guy using a truck for work. I just hate SUVs that never leave the city. They're either in the way or bearing down as Panther described himself doing.

Not long ago, I was waiting to make a left turn in a left turn only lane. I was out in the intersection. There was an SUV facing me waiting to make the opposite left. I couldn't see around him to know if there was traffic coming straight in the lane to his right. I had another SUV behind me who apparently could see that no one was coming and he started going nuts on his horn. Of course, I wasn't going to drive into a potential collision based on nothing more than some asshole blowing his horn. So I waited until the guy facing me cleared out and I could see what was coming at me. The guy behind me and I both made our lefts and ended up next to each other at a light down the road. The guy was glaring at me like a douchebag. So I rolled down the window and asked him what the fuck his problem was. He started bitching at me for "taking all day to turn." I told him I wasn't driving a fucking behemoth like he was and couldn't see and advised him to just drive his own vehicle and stop trying to drive mine too. He actually apologized.
