aerosmith puts on a great show. i love 'em. they're a nostalgic band for me. "nine lives", which was the last album i bought from them, bring back a lot of good memories...same with "get a grip". those awkward high school years. i don't know, "livin on the edge" and "eat the rich" were anthems of mine back then.

and who can forget REVOLUTION X??

I wish Aerosmith would retire. They're an embarrassing shell of a once great rock and roll band.

I respectfully disagree. The Stones may not be what they were, but at least they didn't resort to crap like "I don't want to miss a thing".

Well, that explains it... I don't fit that demographic.

Face it, Aerosmith sold out, got soft and stale. The Stones only sold out... they didn't get soft. Mick and Keith can still bring it.

Especially when you sing it to them...
So I've heard, cause I'd never do a totally pussy thing like that.

Agreed. They should have done prison time for that "Jaded" song. Just awful. Stop guys... please, stop.

Ok seriously..... I haven't even STARTED to read the Aerosmith bashing yet... but if you ever use the names "Creed" and "Led Zeppelin" in the same sentence again except to show the suckage end of the scale compared to one of the all time greats.... my god man. If you really think that then you just need to shoot yourself now and get it over with. Realy. There is no help for you.

I'll be brief since I should have crashed out a LONG time ago.....

A) to whomever it was that said Aerosmith has lived off the same song for 35 years, would you care to name that song please? I bet ya that of the people that read that post that there were at least 3 different songs people came up with.

B) Yes we all admit that the Armageddon song (I refuse to type its' name) is a steaming pile of sell out dog shit. But hey it got them their first #1 song. Which goes to show how very little the people who give you top 40 lists really care about music and how much they really care about who paid them a shitload to promote some 18 year old with big titties.

C) Way to go Wheaton Zach on liking Nine Lives! If any of you would like a lesson in true modern Aerosmith, not the "we're gonna target the MTV crowd so we can get popular" stuff, go buy Nine Lives. Feel free to skip tracks 2,3, and 11 (SIDE NOTE god I'm a loser for pulling those out of my ass, I just checked and I was right) to avoid the "chart tunes" Also check out the other song off the Armageddon Soundtrack "What Kind of Love Are You On" or the 2 new tracks on their latest GH album (as if they don't have enough of those)

D) Go see them live. Even still. No they are not quite what they were through the late 90's early 2000's with their live show, but they still blow the shit out of most bands touring today. Tix still avail for 9/8 at the Horizon. Don't worry about working late. Joan Jett is opening. You don't have to get there til 8:30 or so.

* ** for any of you going to the show, pre-show I'll be renewing acquaintance with my favorite Labatt vendor outside Section 112 to warm up for Wolves season. Drop me a PM and we can share a beverage.

E) Yes Jaded is a piece of shit. And I fight to keep it off my band's set list every time.

F) You name a better front man, and I mean TOTAL PACKAGE, not just showmanship (DLR) or voice (uuuhhhh.....uhhh.... can't come up with one) than Steven Tyler. Just try. Seriously just try.

I'm sure I'll have more tomorrow, but the alarm goes off at 4:30 and if I keep typing I'll be here all night :D

"Full Circle" was probably my favorite track on there. I bought the album when I was on my trip to Spain, and everything about that song reminds me of being in Madrid, downing much Sangria and smoking many Cuban cigars. It was a senior class trip, so it was full of high school high jinx, crushes, romances, passed curfews, and broken hearts. "Raise your drinking glass, here's to yesterday"...brings tears to my eyes.

You asked for it.... how about 10:

1. DLR
2. Sammy Hagar
3. Robert Plant
4. Roger Daultry
5. Mick Jagger
6. Chris Cornell
7. Chris Robinson
8. Axl Rose
9. Bruce Dickinson
10. Anthony Keidis

You, yourself said voice and showmanship. Steven Tyler IS NOT THAT GREAT OF A SINGER. He's a decent frontman for a once-upon-a time great band, but COME-ON... are you by chance a distant Nephew or something? I'll take ANY of these 10 over him any day of the week.... shit, I'll take Belinda Carlisle, as well, over Steven Tyler.

Seriously man. Did you go to the school for the deaf? DLR, Jagger and Axl don't hold a candle to Steven vocally.

And the others are all great singers yes, but other than Keidis how many of them jump around the stage doing back flips and flying over the audience on a trapeze?

I would agree that Axl and a few others may be a stretch... but I think you get my point.

Do not misunderstand me, I think Aerosmith was a great band and yes, Steven Tyler belongs in the team photo of great rock and roll frontmen, but he's not the top of the list... he's just too 'dorky' at times.
