The past 15 minutes was a sad exhibit of drinky's decline and stupidity.

Today, in "What the hell is wrong with drinky", the half-wit couldn't understand the point of not scoring a TD late in the game to kill time and win the game. Bernstein exlained it perfectly. Every football fan knows about this concept. It's not like you need Bernstein to explain it. Everybody knows the situations where you would do it.

Yet drinky couldn't understand it. Kept on saying "What about unique situations, Dan." He repeated this line about 10 times. Bernstein wanted to call drinky a dumb ass but just did silent pauses to get that point across instead.

That was painful.

You can't worry about "unique situations" because they are by the very definition of unique, highly unlikely to happen.

He's not funny. He's anything but funny and it's actually just straight stupid when he speaks.

Bernstein and Mac often try to give him hints to cut out this weird nonsense. They're trying to be tactful with him so as to not totally embarrass him on the air by bitching him out. So they'll just give him silent pauses or they use a certain disgusted tone as a way to suggest to him, "Hey, drink, you're making an ass of yourself. Stop it."

Drinky is incapable of picking up these hints.

Even Ranger tries to let him know. Like yesterday on the 5:30 update. Drinky made some bad joke about Ranger being g.ay. And Ranger said, "You're unbelievable. You really are."

If drinky's not embarrassed, his co workers and the listeners are embarrassed for him.

Seriously, can he ever get through a sentence without saying "ahhhhhh" or "uhhhhhh".

He's talks like this on the B&B show of all places. They love to call out people who can't speak (Urlacher & Rose just to name a few). Why don't they ever saying anything to him.

I think Bernstein is amused by him.

They were all laughing good when Drinky did his bit on making a parody song of my verona and all that was in that stretch.

Amused by the fact that he's talking to a complete idiot. Not because drinky is funny, clever and/or witty. Bernstein often insults drinky without drinky even knowing he's being insulted. Pretty much talks down to him without drinky realizing it as well.

Lot's of talk show hosts have families. They also still try to be good at their jobs.

Plus acting the way he does means he can't advance and make more money. You'd want to advance to make more money for your family.

They're friends. It shows on the air. Bernstein, the guy who runs the station, allows it on his show because he's not thinking as deeply into as you do - it's non-threatening and he probably understands most of it is a bit as a reaction to some of the calls that are put on the air. No doubt, Matt may keep it going because he thinks of it as his role on the air during the show, but I think it's just what they do.

I think it is telling that Goff was at Bernsie's house and always talked of being in a sort of relationship with his kids. Heard that about Matty never.

I remember hearing Goff bitch about how Bernstein doesn't hang out with him or drinky outside of work. That he had never invites them to dinner or anything else. One time Goff bitched about how Bernstein had never even bought lunch for him or drinky. Mac once told Goff that he gives a piece of his bonus checks to his producers. Mac asked if Boers and Bernstein do that for him and drink. Goff said in a disgusted voice, "Hell no."

To BD: I don't think Bernstein considers drinky his "friend". Don't think he necessarily hates him. Just think he has no respect for him. Nor would he based on what we know of Bernstein. Drinky is an idiot. Bernstein pisses on idiots all day. So Bernstein's "Idiot radar" doesn't work on drinky? He's the idiot that Bernstein respects? No.

You really think that Bernstein is not aware that drinky is dumb? Don't be naive. He does take digs at drinky to imply that he thinks he's dumb. Subtle shots. Always goes over drinky's head. That's what Matt gets for hitching his wagon to Beerstain. Dan will never promote one of his underlings or recommend them for a job. Mac does that all the time. He's always pimping his boyquarium lickspittles on the air. I don't think Matt has much ambition for his own show. How could you want your own show then go on the air and spew forth the most idiotic and inane thoughts imaginable? I think being in B+B pit of despair has worn Matt out. He's used to be an ok listen around 2006-07ish. Never great but just a generic sports show that took calls and didn't go on moral crusades or sing parody songs every hour.
