Very good Pilot episode

If you liked Spader on Boston Legal, its that, but he's a criminal mastermind

I was just thinking the same thing. I just don't want to start filling up my DVR with shit I will not watch anyway. Having said that, this show is ONDEMAND so I will give it a shot. If James Spader wasn't on it,I probably wouldn't since NBC usually has crap shows.

This is probably a good move. I watched it and although it was a good pilot, there were definitely some red flags that make me hesitant to call it a can't miss prospect. Some of the writing was really bad and some of the actions by the characters were laughable.

The one that really had me scratching my head was when Spader warned that the general's daughter was going to be kidnapped and chick agent said they need to go over and make sure she is ok and then the guy from Homeland said that was a dumb idea, that the guy was probably bluffing. Like that would really happen, like they wouldn't just automatically take any threat like that seriously and at least send someone to check into it. Like it would be that difficult to find some feds or police in Washington DC to go make sure a little girl isn't being kidnapped by a terrorist. That conversation was really stupid and made me question the intelligence of the writers.

And the chick is a terrible agent. Has a top terrorist in her home, lets him run off. And then pretty much gives a chemical weapon to some random dude, like a real agent wouldn't have taken out a gun and put the guy down right there.

Stuff like that makes me wonder how stupid the rest of this show is going to be.

Great first episode. This may replace BB & MM when they end as my favorite show.

This is the best new show on TV. I caught up on the last 3 episodes tonight. Great writing & acting & each week features an interesting sinister character. Good sub plots are also starting to develop & progress. While no show can replace Breaking Bad, The Blacklist has become my must watch show. Fantastic.

I'm really big on this show so far too. Very well done and while I normally can't stand Spader, he is very well cast here.

The Blacklist returned tonight. This is a great great show with outstanding writing & acting. Like Breaking Bad, you root for the bad guy.

Hmm, the AV Club keeps giving its episodes Cs and Ds. That doesn't sound like Breaking Bad to me at all.

yea I stuck with it and really like this show a lot. Haven't watched last night yet, but so far the season has been really good.

Not sure why they don't just DNA Spader to see if he's related to the chick though, seems like an obvious thing to do.

This weeks epidsoe was one of the best. Showed Red at his best and worst.
The guy playing the bad guy(Frank Whatley) is one of my favorite small role guys.

It's a guilty pleasure. I've always liked Spader & his ability to play completely amoral characters.

The stories are often a stretch, but on cold Monday nights, I'm not asking for much.

And I didn't realize how much of a Parminder Nagra(sp?)fan I've become.

Without question. No throwing shade on Lizzy, just a personal preference. Different strokes for different folks and all. Plus I've always had a thing for short women.

Still my favorite TV show, although Sail is gaining.

I only watch because I think Spader is a great actor. Just like Boston Legal,he plays the "smart-ass and smartest guy" in the room quite well.
