(CBS) The Blackhawks have acquired forward Brandon Mashinter from the Rangers in exchange for forward Kyle Beach.

Mashinter will report directly to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs.

The 25-year-old Mashinter appeared in six games with the Rangers this season and recorded 27 penalty minutes in 23 career NHL games.

In 12 games with Hartford thus far he has zero goals, one assist, 30 PIMs, and a -4.

A guy I know once predicted he would score 30 goals in the NHL a couple seasons ago.

Ah yes, Norwegian prospect Mathis Olimb! The organization thought he could be a decent contributor and then Beach fought him in camp and fucked up his shoulder. Never played a single game for the Hawks and ran back to Scandinavia the first chance he got. As the Grobber would say, SO MUCH FOR THAT.

EDIT: I see he only put up 32 points in 59 games with Rockford once he came back from his shoulder injury. Probably wouldn't have hacked it here anyway. Oh well, Beach is a fuck.

nope, I'm the guy who said Bickell was a lazy piece of shit who thought his role was to dangle like Kane rather than hit people and crash the net.

Little late on this, but the Rangers non-tendered him and he still hasn't found a team. He does, however, appear to be marrying a blonde bartender from Moe's in River North, so he has that going for him, which is nice.
