Too much American blood has been spilt defending that Flag. NO WAY!

Ok, but the point of my question is more

Should we stop people from doing legal things we dont agree with and secondly can that be called patriotism?

There's a fine line between desecration and defecation.

You understand, the blood was spilled because people want to live in a country where we are allowed to express our opinion?

You didn't specify that.

The answers are very clearly no and (as a consequence of the first no) very much no.

So if you see an ugly girl in a bar and call her ugly, can't you get charged with harassment?

No.

I do think there are better ways to get your point across then burning a flag.

I won't say it should be illegal but I do think it's disrespectful to the men and woman who have fought and died to give us the right to do it. There are more effective ways to voice your displeasure than this hackneyed, melodramatic display. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

But as you said, they are fighting for ALL freedom of expression, not just the ones some people approve of.

Im not saying it's a good idea. But to celebrate someone who stopped another from doing it (supposedly in the name of 'Merica), is a bit backwards in my opinion.

I think what Monday did was awesome. He respects the flag and what it means and didn't want them to burn it. They can, but he can also snatch it away from them before they do it.

As long as it's your own flag, knock yourself out. But don't do it in a theater. Even if the flames may not bother RPB during Despicable Me 2.

Only because they were trespassing. He cant do it if its on there property.

It's certainly not a patriotic act that he did it. Not in this country anyway.

To me, it seems like something a H.S. or college kid would do because he or she can't think of another way to express themselves. Kind of a hack move.

If you're going to exercise your right to freedom of speech and expression, dont do it around me.

Got it. UnAmerican.

You almost never see an American burn anything but an American flag.

Have them pick a flag of a different country and then go live there.

I agree, there are better ways of expressing yourself, even if all you want to say is that you are a dumbass.
