I shouldn't have to deal with some asshole smoking on the ramps when I go to a Sox game. The smoke is distracting, bothersome, and unhealthy for me.

Yet, you started a thread Dbagging the Sox for kicking your buddies out. Can't have it both ways.

Those guys weren't near anyone and weren't bothering anyone at all. Security hassled them because that's what they do. If they had been blowing smoke in your face, I would agree with you and support you having Darkside shoot them on your behalf.

Security shouldn't have to deal with some assholes smoking during a ballgame.

Who was Martin hassling? He was walking around a neighborhood where he "didn't belong". If he had parked his car in front of Zimmerman's house with a boomin' system cranking Wu-Tang at midnight and Zimmerman had politely requested he turn it down and he told Zimmerman to go fuck himself and the authorities refused to address it, I would have supported his shooting. Or at least I wouldn't have felt bad about it. But that isn't what happened.

I guess Im confusing things. I had thought Martin at least was guilty of trespassing on private property. (Not Zimmerman's but the neighbors)

I don't know about that. And maybe this is personal for me. I'm particularly bothered by rudeness in public spaces. I don't care so much if someone cuts through my yard. I would only ask that they shut the gates.

Blasting Wu-Tang at anytime can be cause for getting shot.

To me, this isnt about society's laws or common courtesy.

It's about a lunatic who wanted a confrontation and went about finding one. Just like Zimmerman.

Dad could have walked away.

He chose not to.

Anyone who can't see this has an enormous blind spot.

Maybe the Dad said, Ok in a minute. The cop escalated things further, which lead to the "fuck off" comment.

The Dad could have walked away, but the cop also had no reason to even pull out his gun, let alone pull the trigger.

Maybe. But maybe it's just about a guy who paid his twelve bucks and wanted to watch a movie (and previews) without distraction.

But it's not. The guy has a history.

This guy and Zimmerman are pretty much the same thing

Wanted a confrontation. Tried to find any sort of inkling of a reason and started shooting.

I'd hate to see what would happen if this guy went to Alinea.

What's his history? Asking another ignoramus that was texting in the theater to stop?

Safe to say that there wouldn't have been confrontation with that dad.

What's his history? Asking another ignoramus that was texting in the theater to stop?

And then following her into the bathroom

And then going off on a neighbor for a car stereo

And also...

However, early in his career, one supervisor noted: "Reeves has a tendency to be impatient in regards to legal matters and practices now in force ... and may be abrupt with complainants in some areas of the city."

In 1968, he was reprimanded for carelessly handling a city weapon.

Let's think about this

He went to a movie and texting bothered him so he confronted and stalked the woman

He goes back to the same theater weeks later, with a gun, and starts another confrontation

Sounds like he wanted a confrontation

I'm not suggesting he isn't a nut with a gun.

But you are implying that the deceased was asking for it.

He was definitely jonesing for a confrontation. That is a fact of what happened. Not an implication.

Asking to be shot? No. But he was a rude little prick and he ran into the wrong guy. I have more important things to get worked up about. Like people flying in swaets and shower shoes.

How do you KNOW that is a fact? He reacted to being confronted by a total stranger. You cant know that he was jonesing for a confrontation.

From the article that quotes cops and witnesses.

They argued several times, according to police and witnesses, and the man who was texting watched as the other man walked out of the theater. Curtis Reeves, a retired police officer, apparently went seeking a theater employee to complain about the texting, police said.

The guy didn't need to involve himself in a confrontation. he could have walked away.

HE DIDN"T DESERVE TO BE SHOT THOUGH!!

If we could just eliminate all the George Zimmerman's and Curtis Reeves' from the planet, we'd be a lot better off.

He could have:

Chosen not to respond

Moved seats

Gone to an usher

Gone to management himself about the old man

Texted from the hallway

Gone to the bathroom

Asked for a refund

Left

So your solution after all this is to engage in the same behavior you claim to loathe?

Brilliant.

Some more info has come out
The guy who was shot was throwing popcorn at the shooter.

The shooting happened outside. So now we need to know who followed whom.

People who argue against concealed carry site it will become the Wild West. Well back in the wildest days of Dodge and Tombstone the average murder rate was one every six months. You know why Cuz everybody was packing and if you started fucking with someone and they shot you the law was on your side,so therefore people where nicer to each other and more courteous.
