Wilt fucking Chamberlain is #37?! What an obscenely horrific list. Laird Hamilton is ahead of Wilt Goddamn Chamberlain? Wow, hideous list. Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were not better basketball players than Wilt. Jordan and Kareem are the only ones with an argument, Russell as well because of his unprecedented team success.

I love Larry Bird but what criteria are they using to rank him over Magic, let alone Wilt freaking Chamberlain? Bird has no case over Chamberlain. None. He was very similar to Magic and was regarded as a greater player in the early years but Bird broke down after 88' and Magic is generally regarded as having a superior career. Ranking a surfer over an iconic sports god like Wilt Chamberlain is insult to the intelligence of all sports fans.

How are they ranking these athletes exactly? Why is Jackie Robinson third? Because he was a pioneer? His pioneer status is enough to make him the third best athlete? He was a terrific athlete obviously but third is obscenely high.

Also, why the hell is Jim Brown ranked #27? Brown is generally regarded as the greatest player in league history. Probably ranked #1 on more all time NFL lists than any other player. On top of this he's also regarded as an all time great lacrosse player. Woods, Federer, Phelps and Pele are ranked 7-10 yet Brown is all the way down at #27? Strikes me as odd.
