Drop In has the balls to say that the B&B threads are too negative towards them but it's ok for those dopes to negatively stereotype anyone living 50 miles outside Chicago as hayseed meth cooking incestuous uneducated morons?

Boy, Joe Cowley doesn't sound like the same, brash, arrogant turd that once occupied Guillen's backside.

I honestly didn't know that he was still around - I figured he was sent to MN with Sean Jensen.

To his credit, he still gives me douchechills.

Why when they have him on they don't rehash all their BS speculations of yesterday? Cowley basically told them Thibs just cares about basketball, is over the Ron Adams crap, doesn't have a personal issue with anyone and just wants to coach. Even said he is likely going to be a recruiter during Olympic team coaching.

Wow sounds like the whole Bull's world and structure is crumbling. Oh wait, that was yesterday.

I realize there's nothing airlines can do during storms, Terry. However comma our Southwest flight was canceled, then the rescheduled one was pushed back five hours, all due to a massive snowstorm. What did Southwest do? Free drinks for the entire flight back to Chicago. Awesome. On the other hand, I had a Spirit flight delayed five hours because they had a bird fly into the engine. Spirit did jack shit for the people on that flight. A free drink goes a long way. That was my second and absolute final time flying Spirit.

Birds are dicks.

This show is painful. I'll tune back in at 4:00 to see how Friday Fung goes.

I still don't understand why the Cubs should tell the people of Peoria to go away?

i like to think that whenever bruce levine gets on the radio airwaves somewhere dave juday snaps into a trance and belts out an emphatic "BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE LEVINE" and then everyone kind of looks at him funny as he looks back at 'em even funnier like "what's wrong with you guys?"

Spirit wouldn't do jack shit for you if they crashed the fucking plane. They'd charge for life vests if they could.

Bruce on B&B feels weird. The visual isn't any better.

Serious question:Does Japan still play with a smaller ball?

EDIT: Yes,Japan has lighter balls.

What Else is Different?

The first thing you notice is that the ball is smaller and lighter weight than a Major League official ball. Speaking of official balls, the NPB does not have one. Each team gets to select its own official ball. While there is potential for abuse, the balls chosen by each team conform to league specifications. Rest assured, the batter won’t be surprised to find he is facing a MLB ball one game and a smaller one the next.

Bob is reviewing "the Bishop's Wife", which has one of the coolest choir numbers you'll ever hear. Chills. Pretty decent movie for the time.

I'll admit it .... I've never heard that before.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_in_Japan
The Nippon league uses a smaller baseball, strike zone, and playing field. The Japanese baseball is wound more tightly and is harder than an American baseball. The strike zone is narrower "inside" than away from the batter. Five Nippon league teams have fields whose small dimensions would violate the American Official Baseball Rules

To my eyes that would significantly help the batter. Also, virtually all sluggers chase the high cheese.

I thought this week was superhero movie week .... I'm holding off visiting the reading room for that.

I love the people that text/email the ol' "I'm from downstate Illinois and so I can tell you everybody there is a toothless rube that votes against their interests if they are smart enough to know how to vote..." Glad you made it out of that hell, Einstein.

DT,
I remember when Sadahara Oh (?-spell check) was hitting those HR's,the knock against him was the "lighter" ball theory. I just would like to see a picher toss a heavier ball (Major League weight) before I go & give him 100 mil.
I guess that can't happen though.

I'm from central Illinois, have all my teeth, and vote. I realize just how true the "There is nothing south of I-80" stereotype is for those here, and just how ignorant and wrong they are. Just wouldn't be Chicagoland without Sycamore, Algonquin, and Cary! Thriving communities!

To be fair, if you've spent any appreciable amount of time in MAA-toon (say it right or they pitch a bitch), the question does deserve to be considered.

I'm shocked that the idiot broad didn't claim that the "B" in BLT stood for 'bread'.
