Not worth writing in but tl;dr found myself at some WI Casino playing bingo a decade ago .... one of the special games was write out your own card (2-ply pad, write it, sign it, turn it in, cover-all game). Anyway, my card number got called ahead of time to come see them about a problem ... which was stunning because my printing is very clear, especially numbers (7s and 0s have those lines in them, 1 looks just like it likely does on your screen with the serifs top and bottom) ... anyway they told me the problem was that my 1's and 0's looked the same.

First of all, as I said, my 0's have a slashie thru them, and my ones do not.

Second, 1's are straight lines and a zero is a round object (in my case with a diagonal slashie through it).

Third of all, I not so gently inquired how they determined that two of my printed digits looked alike if they actually fuckin' looked alike (thus looking like the same digit by definition)? Not to mention that each digit I pointed to they were able to accurately ascertain without fail, which only further incensed me that we were having this discussion in the first place since they had just disproven their own premise.

Anyway, I amended the card by writing like I was a 3rd-grade re-re (perhaps more on par with many of those that reside in Wisconsin anyway), and of course did not subsequently win that game's jackpot ... though I suppose it was somewhat of a win that they didn't call security because of the increasingly impolite conversation.

Small note vaguely regarding my story above in re: to the phrase about how my 1's look close to how they likely do on your screen .... I just realized that the reply-box font is notably different from the font used for the rest of the board (i.e., the thread-reading font) ... or maybe I'm the last fella to notice that.
