Which guy? Zach?

I'm friends with all the beer guys. One of them hooked me up today. It's like Cheers when I walk in there - Hey Vince, we got this new brew over here.

BTW: Whoever was looking for the Devil made me do it by Tyraena - Bloomingdale had a few cases.

Yeah. Zach was the guy I knew the best. Although now I don't live behind BinnyMecca anymore. The River Grove one is a closet. Very disappointing.

Thoughts on this year's batch?

As a side note, the rumor on Black Note Stout is that they are going to leave it in the barrel longer this year (up to 18 months).

Just stopped by a non-Binny's place by my office.

No luck on the HopSlam but I was able to pick up a FFF Arctic Panzer Wolf, never had it so something to look forward to on the weekend.

Had to bring it into the office so it didn't freeze in the car. I'm just going to leave it sitting on my desk the rest of the day. Drinkin' at work.

I have a 6 of HopSlam still in my car from yesterday - it's like God's refrigerator.

I had 2 yesterday and slept awesome. :-)

It's what you expect from Bell's with this beer. The initial slap in the face from the hops is balanced by the sweet malt and honey. Definitely get a lot of citrus nose from the hops.

It's really good.

I've noticed in the past week or two that APW is everywhere. Like they randomly decided to put it out there now. I hadn't seen it anywhere for at least a year, probably more.

APF is a pretty easy one to find. I probably see that more than anything around by me.

They had Jinx Proof, Robert the Bruce, Alpha Klaus and this. So I went with APW.

I'm not a big fan of Jinx Proof, but the others are the goods.

Alpha Klaus has become my favorite FFF offering. It's a well balanced porter with a ton of Chocolate and hops mixed in. Love it.

APW is a hop bomb for sure. If you like the Double IPA style, you will not be disappointed.

I'm not a fan of Robert the Bruce (actually was offered 5 today by a friend who didn;t like it). I like my alcohol to be a bit more hidden -> it's the style of beer and not this one specifically that is not in my wheelhouse.

Never had Jinx Proof, but Dreadknaught is good too.

Haven't seen Topless Wytch in a while but I remember liking it despite being a style of ber I don't drink very often (Baltic Porter)

Jinx Proof is one of favorite of their "regular" beers.
I agree with Vince, Robert-the-Bruce is pretty bad. My least favorite.

I'm sure I would enjoy Jinx Proof if I could get myself to enjoy Lagers. Keep trying. Can't do it. I've got a 6 pack (minus 1) sitting in the fridge from when I decided to give it another shot. Hopefully we have people over soon so they can drink it. I have Hopslam to enjoy

I am with you McNown - just can't enjoy a lager for the life of me. Pilsner is the same. Last pilsner I liked was Prima Pils from Victory, but nothing since then.

I remember the days when you could walk through the aisles of a sam's wine and spirits and cross paths with multiple vintages of behemoth. Nowadays the binnys clerk has to tap me on the shoulder and tell me they got a secret shipment of this years Batch, and he thinks he going to be sold out of hop slam on the day of its release. :( I liked beer before it was cool.

Church street brewing makes an excellent helles. If you want to get into lagers start with rachbiers and work your way backward in intensity.

I had 12 Hopslams. Now I have 11. I need to go on a mission to find more since the jackass down the street is charging 30 bucks a six pack for it.

Got two bombers of this in the mail today.

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/24659/110259/

I guess they just bottled it for the first time a couple weeks ago (mine are dated 1/8/14). Project Dank won the bronze medal for AIPA at the Great American Beer Festival. Will be cracking one open tonight. Color me excited.
