I never said their talent was mediocre. I said he makes all of them even better - he did break the all - time TD record with them.

I know you didn't...that's why I said "I think" because I thought's that what you were getting at...since you called them the worst offense in football with Tebow.

With the exception of Welker I doubt anyone would argue that you are wrong. I thought you were making a different point. I apologize.

Yeah I'm guessing what leash is trying to say and what I think he's trying to say are two different things, so peace...

My overall point was that if Manning wins it all this year, it will be one of the most impressive performances I can remember. Is that really controversial?

No, not at all...unless you want to argue it's already impressive in and of itself, which I would say it is... :D

It is. He's playing with arguably his greatest offense ever. That's saying a lot. I think failure would be an even bigger deal. On the other hand Brady has a bad offense and an average at best defense. If he overcomes those things and wins a title I believe that would be "the most impressive performance I can remember".

I don't disagree. What Brady is doing Is also very impressive. But coming to a new team at age 37 with a weak arm, breaking every passing record, and winning the Super Bowl (if it happens) is also very impressive. I'm not sure what else you could ask him to do. It'd be as close to perfection as you could get. It's not his fault that Denver acquired offensive talent.

I'm fine with a Brady manning debate. Not so much with a is Manning overhyped debate. The former is debatable, but there's no way someone as decorated as Manning is overhyped.

He's by far the greatest regular season QB in NFL history.

I think the bolded part is my favorite part of this argument.

Deion Branch was a first round draft pick, and Brady has had the best TE receiving combo in the history of the league for a few years.

I don't think that's fair to say of a guy with a ring. He's in the playoffs each year, despite a league that fosters parity more than anything else. He's a winner through and through.

He had nothing to do with that SB win. He was awful that entire playoffs. I don't believe there was a game he threw more touchdowns than interceptions.

Branch was a bum. We saw that once he left Brady. No doubt the TE's were good but they weren't healthy or there were other issues. Now he doesn't have any of that. IF you're trying to compare the talent that Manning has had in comparison to Brady you should really stop. I doubt the biggest Manning fans would say Brady had more offensive talent.

You're discrediting what Manning is doing in Denver in part because Welker was a stud before he got to Denver.

edit: please remember that there are two sides of the football, and the defense "surrounds" the QB with talent also.

This is too much of a slippery slope. Bad or mediocre performances don't discredit the entire body of work. Manning was the man for his entire career in Indy, including the Super Bowl.

I'm not discrediting what he is doing in Denver because Welker had success before he got there. Have you been reading my posts? I've just said Denver has arguably the most offensive talent in the NFL and is arguably the most talented team that Manning has had in his career. Brady on the other hand does NOT have comparable talent on offense and the defense is average at best. It is my opinion that Brady winning a SB this season would be more impressive than Manning winning one. I believe a Manning loss might be his biggest failure considering the talent he has around him.

Manning has been great his entire career BUT his play in the post season hasn't been anywhere near the level of his regular season play. I don't think it's unreasonable to say he really struggled in the playoffs the year they won the Super Bowl. He was great the year they lost. I guess it evened out.

dan marino was better then peyton and brady put together. two totally different eras, two totally different games. put marino in his prime on the broncos and they would win 5 straight super bowls.

I agree that manning losing would be a disappointment, assuming he's the reason they lose. If they lose by something like 38-42 with him accounting for five touchdowns, then he's not at fault, even if he throws a pick six that clinches it for NE in the fourth quarter.
