The above post is the last negative thoughts I will have until the Cubs are mathmatically eliminated in late May.

You mean wild card game. This is the year.

Well yeah. I mean that post will look pretty silly once Olt is named NLCS MVP.

Again with this strange idea that taking on excessive liabilities makes something more valuable.

Of course they've spent more. The draft picks are slotted and a shitty team gets higher picks. Who the fuck are the morons? The guys who lick up Theo's vomit as if it's delicious.

Those seem like very concise sentences to have come from the lips of Terry Boers.

"I, uh, I, uh, you know, there's a good chance that, and look, I'm not the guy who, you know, for the love of God, there's nobody that knows what he will do, but I'm , I'm, I'm comfortable in saying that, given the way things go in today's day in age, it , it, it, who knows? I mean, who really knows? But yeah, in time and with the right circumstances, I could see it, I could see it. No question."

Smart people would have to concede I'm on track to be the best poster on the board.

Exactly, Shark & Arrieta unlock their potential, Wood pitches great again, Jackson bounces back, Rusin/Raley eat innings. Strop becomes a beast fireman reliever. Renteria speaks Spanish to Castro and transforms him into an MVP candidate. Rizzo finds his average stick. Olt lives up to his prospect status a few years ago. Lake mashes and is the new Ellsbury.

Wild Card is the floor for this year. Can't Wait.

"Just one team." I wonder who he thinks that is. The Cardinals are a team they have to beat and they definitely have a better minor league system.

Seems like an odd statement coming from such a "minors don't matter " kind of fellow

Oh, don't diminish our hero hosts like that.

A caller has to agree AND begin the call with no pleasantries, AND thank Dan for being out in front of the Penn State story.

Unless you're madduxboy. Then you can do whatever you want, but you'll be slurping Dan anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Well, that's the conventional wisdom. You can't live by the ratings only when you're trying to beat up the White Sox.

Prior had a dominant MLB season under his belt

As dumb as it is, The Bryant one is worse

I doubt Terry has seen 5 Bryant swings

"They're committed to building a championship" is the kind of vague rubbish that could pretty much justify having faith in any MLB team no matter how bad they are.

18 or 19 teams are unsure about the Championship goal

But the Cubs really, really want to build a champion. I feel sorry for those other teams that just want to win games.

Why don't they tell Margaret that no one cares that she's been watching games since she was 12?

Man, this bernstein is a real fucking moron. As he's lauding the Cubs for spending more money on minor leaguers than anyone else, he can't seem to connect the fact that the only reason for that is because they have lost so many big league games. It's not something to credit them for.

I am a life-long Cubs fan who has lost some interest in baseball but still watches my father struggle through every single pitch of every single at-bat, and Dan Bernstein has driven me to almost agree with you in these sentiments. It's quite a feat, really.

"This coverage was WRONG and UNFAIR."

Things that have been deemed "WRONG and UNFAIR" this week: people being mad about the Cubs pinching money, Joakim Noah slighting hedge fund managers

Could we say Theo has grindy intangibles when it comes to building championship contenders?

You really have to hand it to the Edmonton Oilers. They drafted first overall three years in a row! I don't see anyone else making that commitment to development!

I understand that there will always be people who watch no matter what. I'll watch the Sox no matter what. But what bernstein is espousing, "stop watching", is bullshit. If you stop watching, you're counting on someone else to watch.

We don't know about the Sox guys. But we know about Kris Bryant. My God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
