Rick is a very intelligent person with a great education. However, I totally disagree with his last few posts here. This board was mostly about sports and radio. It seems to be more general discussiony and even much of that has turned into discussion of trolls. You say ignore them and I mostly do. I haven't responded to their PMs nor do I post much about them. My point was this thread and KS's searches give them attention and perhaps encourages them to post more.

KS - I don't think you are understanding the point I was trying to make and I can't explain it any better than I have, so nevermind. I'll stay out of this stuff from now on.

This whole thing reminds me of the restaurant scene in Tommy Boy, with this board being one of Tommy's potential sales.



People have found this interesting community that they enjoy visiting, but as the novelty wears off, to entertain themselves they create alternate personalities that destroy the very thing that made the board a cool community in the first place.

I agree with Spaulding's hypothesis that Keeping Score contributes to this by creating a perverted game of hide and seek where regular members have an incentive to create a bogus ID just to see if KS can catch them.

I can agree that the focus has somewhat shifted from sports. I think starting next week that will change. Nothing can compete with a dominant Bears team and for the first time in a long time, I was burnt out on sports after the Super Bowl. March Madness peaked my interest for a while. The few White Sox games I made it to did also but I have a feeling that a lot of people shared my sports hangover in February.

I am back and ready for football season. I'm also ready to start discussing things more. I even went back to my roots and argued with Nas about Rex Grossman on multiple occasions.

This is primarily a sports board and should be treated as such, but I think that some of the other sections can be a good diversion.

I still think that trolls are apart of any message board and the infestations here could be much worse.

I usually agree with you and your "Purdue Education", Rick, but I have to disagree with you here. Generally speaking, I believe that trolls are common to message boards - regardless of topic or theme.

It has come to my attention that some of you have a great deal of anger and suspiscion on this thread. I have noticed, over the course of many, many years observing the human animal, that suspiscion is rarely productive to the human element.
