Lets smoke it. Although I have retired from the game, "is it weed?"

It's a landmark of some sort with some writing on it:

"Wilson Nottebart,1st man on Mars-July 4th,1888"

That was an old Night Gallery episode where a guy who is 1st on the moon for the U.S. discovers a plaque with something similar to the above. Great episode.

there's not enough smokers on mars to take care of that mysterious white rock so they need to bring in the heavy hitters from chicago, eh?

just look for the dancing people right off'a cicero ave between, say, lake and 290. you'll know the dance when you see it.

Are any of you people actually Chicagoans? First Kirkwood with his reference of getting "on 94 at Addison", now this? Look suburbanite transplants, its the damned Kennedy or Eisenhower!

Is it that damned hard?

ummm, RR, take it from a guy whose fantasy sports empire has been called "the cicero rockstars" since 2001, but if you were to go up and down cicero ave between lake street and I-290 you'll find some smokers. how did you miss that, as i specifically meant cicero ave between lake st and, say, van buren or congress pkwy as those streets straddle 290 over there. if you want to get into a pissing contest about streets in that neighborhood suffice to say i know them well. i've got stories.

so yeah i definitely DIDNT mean "between cicero and lake off of 290" as it was "between lake and 290 off of cicero" .....just like i said!

Why doesn't 294 get a name?

Also, I hate "Crawford Ave." people. I've always been a "Pulaski Rd." man myself.

Tri-state notwithstanding, I'm fairly certain that 294 never got a name, because for years there never has been a unified political reason to name expressways outside the city.

As for Pulaski, I agree. I laugh everytime I'm on Crawford in the south suburbs where no "ethnics" previously lived. Or on "South Park" in South Holland & Dolton.

I think its because they got lazy and stupid with names.

Tri State, but its only in one state
I90 is very cleverly called the East West tollway, or northwest tollway (though sometimes its called the Jane Adams)
Elgin O'hare Expy, which goes to neither Elgin or Ohare
I've heard 355 sometimes called the "north south" tollway

I80 is the Borman for like 2 miles, but thats better than nothing I guess.
The Skyway should be called the Daley since its a fucking ripoff to drive on.

90 is the Northwest/Addams. 88 is was the East-West, now Reagan.

I remember when the Bishop Ford was the Calumet.

Like I said, for years it never happened. Once it became illegal to elect a Democrat in DuPage and much of Kane County, all it took was one over-served IL Tollway Authority mtg. & boom, they now have the "Reagan". :)

But it was still called the East-West before that. That's a name, albeit an uncreative one.

Technically 57 in the city is called the "Dan Ryan West Leg," but I've never heard anyone call it that, or even just the "West Leg," for that matter. Frankly, I'm surprised it hasn't been named after a Daley yet. However, it is below 95th; maybe the name has to go to someone from The Community.
